Great feeling to win. The Coyotes won this on defense imo. They had some great digs especially later in the match. Omaha probably deserved better than a sweep. The end of the first set kind of set the tone for the rest of the match. Omaha was really controlling everything above the net early but then the Yotes basically played them even the rest of the way. The Yotes has some amazing diggs and that created alot of team and crowd momentum. The over turned line call on 2nd set point was basically the dagger. The Mavs didn't put up much of a fight after that. The Coyotes have always seemed to play the important points well under their resurgence under Williamson. That is a great quality to have and a big reason they are champs.

Not to brag, but I purposely refrained from posting about the SLT because I didn't think it would go well, and I didn't want to bring negative juju to the Yotes. Do I get one of the rings or something for my contribution?
(My thought was that Omaha was playing well and on a roll, and even SDSU was streaking, while the Yotes were not at their peak. Glad to be wrong.)

Although having the tournament over Thanksgiving break, with a tournament football game on Saturday, might hurt attendance,... I still think we could pull off a decent crowd. Here are the Volleyball SLT records: (copy-pasted from the record book) LINKTOTAL ATTENDANCE Rk. No. -Year -(Host) -----------------Location1. 2,953 2009 (North Dakota State) Fargo, N.D. 2. 1,879 2010 (North Dakota State) Fargo, N.D. 3. 1,773 2014 (IUPUI) ---------------Indianapolis, Ind. 4. 1,660 2006 (Oral Roberts) --------Tulsa, Okla. 5. 1,316 2004 (Oral Roberts) --------Tulsa, Okla. CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Rk. No. --Year (Matchup) -----------------------------Location1. 1,615 2009 (North Dakota State vs. Fort Wayne) Fargo, N.D. 2. 951 --2010 (North Dakota State vs. Fort Wayne) Fargo, N.D. 3. 802 --2006 (Oral Roberts vs. Valparaiso) ---------Tulsa, Okla. 4. 673 --2004 (Valparaiso vs. Oral Roberts) ---------Tulsa, Okla. 5. 587 --2003 (Valparaiso vs. Oral Roberts) ---------Valparaiso, Ind. Actually, with the championship match happening just before the football game.... we could easily beat that record if the Yotes qualify for that match. Gotta win on Friday first, though... I’m pretty certain we ended up with the 2nd best attended tournament and championship match. Just under 1,100 for the championship and somewhere above 2,700 for the total.

I will have to admit I had more fun at the volleyball match then I did at the football game. There was alot of energy in the arena. The crowd and football team fell flat in the dome. It was a rather boring game. The volleyball match was far from boring. Those kids are gamers. As soon as the pressure mounts they play their best. I was happy to see them win it live.

Thinking about the April SLT championship match and then our match with SDSU in this year's semis, I have to say that our volleyball team may be the most mentally tough team I've ever observed. They just know how to pull through when it matters.

I was able to get the time to watch the replay. The coyotes played very well in the match and just took the will from Omaha in the 3rd set. The Coyotes have now won 3 Summit League Tournament titles since 2018 and have won all of them from the 2 seed slot. Another great season of Coyote Volleyball. I did not know that Junke will be back which is really nice.
