Thanks! I guess this is my version of "get off my lawn". I certainly make grammatical and spelling mistakes too, and spellcheck is often part of the problem. But when I see the same mistakes repeated by multiple people, I get a little triggered...

OK, I lied. I have two more lessons for today (both of them football terminology).
Correct: "shovel pass" Incorrect: "shuffle pass" or "shuttle pass"
Think about the last time you used a shovel to move rock or dirt. You use a similar motion when you "throw" the heavy stuff in your shovel. If you disagree on this one, I can provide documentation (fight me).
Correct: "Wide Receiver Corps" or "Linebacker Corps" Incorrect: "Wide Receiver Core" etc.
The word Corps is pronounced exactly the same as "core" (i.e. Peace Corps, Marine Corps), so why is it spelled so strangely? Because it is a military term that originated in the French military for units of an army, and that's how they spell it. The French often has silent or unpronounced letters, especially at the end of words. Probably because they are lazy. (JMO) It literally means "body" in French. (same root as the word "corpse")
Also: the word "core" is also often used correctly in football, as in: "the new freshmen are being added to a core of talented returners" or "The linebackers are the core of this defense" etc.
You're welcome.

Here's another one (why not, it's Friday): As a fan, rooting for a team that you have a rooting interest in is fine. However, routing for a team is something best handled by the Director of Basketball Operations...

It's LOSING not LOOSING.
That's my pet peeve. That and LOSE/LOOSE
Yeah, I get it could just be because of some sloppy typing, but when I see it repeatedly I tend to think the poster is just stupid.

We have so many things in this world to worry about other than spelling and grammar mistakes. I used talk to text sometimes while posting so there may be an error made. I would rather read a post that has an honest error than to not read a post at all.
