This trip was indicative of the Yotes season, slow starts, stronger finishes, but one constant is they work hard and fight to the end. I know a #5 seed will draw the ire of some Yotes fans (which is OK), but I for one am looking forward to watching this team in the SLT (and thankfully, in person).
Some positives going into the SLT: X is back and getting into his zone, Tasos is becoming a 3-pt threat, adding to his inside game, Anderson at the point is helping defensively and offensively, Oliver had one of his best all round games, last night, so hopefully his confidence will be high during tourney, Kruz and Mason, have just been solid all season, Goodrich and Hayes, they just do what they do, play tough and get rebounds. The Yotes played the 2 seed very close (2x), they beat the 3 seed after being down 13 or 14, at their house with a big crowd.
There's a lot to like, in my view. My expectations are not high, but my interest is very high!

The Coyotes are 11-4 since the third game of the conference season. Not bad. Will this team translate to the tourney format and have much of a shot? They will in the first round but the potential of a SDSU second round game is probably a season ender. The Coyotes still don't have a win against the Jacks in the Summit tourney so that would be a nice little monkey to get off their backs. The Jacks would have all the pressure and the Coyotes would need their best defensive effort of the year to get by that one. On any given Monday.

We do owe them some payback for a certain 1 vs 5 Monday matchup.

I still consider that game the worst referee screw job that I can remember against a Coyote team. 11 straight fouls against the Yotes in the second half completely turned around that game. That still makes me angry about 5 years later. I blame the Summit league for that and ever since I have wanted the Yotes out of the league.
