Typical coyotes first half. Yours spreading the scoring around well.

Nice 22-point win! It was good to see Hansen playing and scoring at the end of the game.

Speaking of players for next season, I was a little disappointed not to see Aspen get some time in this game. Does anyone know why she’s not getting any time? I kinda thought she’d be a good off the bench player for us when she transferred.

That is a great question on Aspen. It seems to be a question for some other players as well. I think most of us would have thought she would be a significant contributor but it hasn't worked out that way.

OTOH, it’s nice to see “Pep” improving her game and getting more minutes later in this season. She will probably split time with Mazurek down low next year.
Fun random fact: both of them have Polish last names… coincidence? Yes, probably.

Coach P just generally plays a pretty short bench - always has. And once she finds the rotation she likes, she doesn't go from it much. Hansen is an example - assuming she has been healthy the past few weeks, but doesn't get into the rotation. Looking ahead, when you consider the level of talent on the bench/injured, I don't totally understand the hand-wringing about a drop off next year.

Looking ahead, when you consider the level of talent on the bench/injured, I don't totally understand the hand-wringing about a drop off next year. I wouldn't say there is a lot of hand-wringing, but I think an expectation of a little drop-off is warranted. Sjerven especially is a tough player to replace or replicate the impact she has on a game. I mean, I doubt anyone is predicting a fall from grace where we drop out of the top tier with SDSU, (other than a few myopic Rabbit fans or hopeful Roos fans). We will have a ton of returning talent, especially players returning from injury. We will just have to adjust the style of play offensively, where the "teardrop pass to Sjerven" is less emphasized, and we maybe lean more on perimeter sharpshooters like Hansen, Guebert and Hempe? The one out of that group that plays the best defense will probably start. I'm sure the Jacks will (fairly) be preseason favorites with most of the starters returning. It will be another fun season where maybe the Yotes spend a lot of the preseason figuring out roles, and gradually become dominant by the end. Basically what the Jacks have done this year. I'm here for it (as the kids say these days).

Anyone else a little nervous that these last two games could be "trap" games? Looking forward traps...

ORU was very strong and physical, but I was surprised by their team lack of quickness and just overall athleticism. They did move the ball well on offense though and had some really nice post to post passes. Just seemed like the type of team that would wear down as the game went on.
