I know we have a "Coyotes in the Pros" Forum, but I just realized that I'm not sure where to post about our former athletes that are now coaching (both on pro and amateur teams). Clearly the list is very long, including coaches on staff at USD like Coach Kasperbauer, Coach Miles, etc. But I just want to start with some of our more recent graduates who are just now getting started in coaching... feel free to post whatever you like in here, though. "Madison McKeever begins her first season with Tommie Women's Basketball as the director of basketball operations in 2022-23. She joins St. Thomas after spending the past two seasons on the coaching staff at Concordia-St. Paul." link"Reigning Summit League Player of the Year Chloe Lamb is making the jump from the court to the bench as the new University of Mary women's assistant basketball coach. UMary Head Coach Rick Neumann selected the South Dakota native to serve as the Marauders assistant coach after she led the University of South Dakota to the program's first NCAA Division I Sweet 16 appearance last spring." link

link"Casey Kasperbauer was promoted to assistant coach in July of 2020 after spending the previous two seasons as the director of operations. Kasperbauer is a 1,000-point scorer for the Coyotes and a 2016 graduate of USD. Kasperbauer enters his second year as an assistant coach in the 2021-22 season."

Nice work...interesting thread! These three were off the top of my head, I’m probably missing others in other sports. Or high school coaches. It doesn’t need to be an exhaustive list, of course. Just always good to give these folks some props for following their dreams, and winning at life.

Just always good to give these folks some props for following their dreams, and winning at life. There would be dozens and dozens of high school coaches in many different states. Be tough to keep a handle on all of them.

With an eye toward Ft. Collins, there's probably no school in the country with stronger USD connections among their coaches, specifically WBB, than Colorado State. There's head coach Ryun Williams, top asst. Amber (Hegge) Cunningham and director of administration Chad Lavin.

Although not a former Coyote athlete, I dig the fact that NBA champion head coach Nick Nurse from the Toronto Raptors had a brief stint as a Coyote MBB assistant.

Speaking of the NBA, there's former Coyote great and longtime NBA assistant coach Nate Tibbetts, currently of the Orlando Magic.

If we drop into the high school ranks, Mitch Begeman at SF Roosevelt is a good place to start. His squad is the two-time defending state AA boys champions. His 2021-22 team was just the third undefeated AA team in the history of that classification.

Wesley Beschorner Head Football Coach Wisconsin Eau Claire "Wesley Beschorner enters his first season as head coach of the UW-Eau Claire football team in 2019-2020. Beschorner, who had been the quarterbacks coach at the NCAA Division I University of Maryland, became the 17th coach in school history when he was hired in February 2019. At Maryland, the Terrapin offense ranked second in the Big Ten in rushing touchdowns, number three in rushing offense and saw five players earn All-Big Ten honors last season."
