comparing conference-only major stats:
Scoring: Denver has the better scoring offense, USD the better defense, but both are average to bad. Denver is dead last in defense and scoring margin. -advantage Yotes (slight)
Shooting efficiency: Same story on offense/defense for FG%. both teams are average with Denver better shooting and USD better defending. -draw Yotes have the best 3-point shooting in conference (.455) and the 2nd best 3-point defense (.308). Pios are average-good shooting and average-bad defending the arc. The yotes make 9.3 a game (2nd) to Denver's 4.3 (last) -advantage Yotes
Free-Throw shooting: Yotes are slightly better shooting from the line (.766 vs .720), but Denver gets there more (21 vs 16 attempts) resulting in more points per game (15.4 vs 12.0), plus more fouls for their opponent. A 3.4 point differential from the stripe could be meaningful. -advantage Pios
Rebounding: The Pios are better on the glass on both ends of the floor. They are #2 in conference in OREB (11/game). Their rebounding margin is +4.1 vs -0.5 for the Yotes. -advantage Pios
Ball Controll: Both teams are very bad at ball control. They are both at the bottom in turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio, with the Yotes slightly better in both categories -draw
Blocks/Steals: Denver gets a lot more blocks than than USD, and about as many steals (not many) -Advantage Pios

The biggest mismatch is the Yotes' arc shooting vs the Pios' perimeter defense. We'd better have a good shooting night.

Probably be able to say this for every game: if it's called tightly, we win, if they let them play and it gets physical, we don't. Also, three-point shooting percentage will be a major factor in every game we play.

Was getting ready to type out a big rant, but instead will just go with "we suck".

Not much to say. At this point we are looking at a Friday night game at the Summit League tourney.

Bad, bad, bad. Lack of energy across the board.
How long till volleyball season starts? That's about the only program I'm excited about at this point.

Outshot by 20% from the field and they doubled us on three-point percentage. Given our severe height disadvantage in every game, those are and will be the telling statistics for us in every game, especially three-point percentage.

We are only built to win 1 way right now and we struggle against bigger, more athletic teams. I thought we would get a little more out of the post, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
