Might be able to find out some info tonight at the dinner/auction. Anyone attending? I am not going to be able to go.

Yeah, that seems pretty awful to me since it's simple, but I like a lot of uniforms that others do not like

Initially I do not really like that helmet design. Perhaps it will grow on me. Always liked the Paw with the U inside - that is my favorite of the last 30 years. The new logo inside the paw would be sharp.
Just a guess, but perhaps they are staying simple on the helmet logo because USD is trying to change its brand from being known as USD and wants to be simply known as South Dakota.

I like it. Helmet looks good. You guys should have heard Will Powell's speach at the auction dinner - classic and colorful.

I've now had the chance to talk to a few people about the new helmet logo and the result is that this new logo is universally hated. The most frequent comment is "why did they get rid of the paw, it was pretty cool? They could have put the SD inside the paw instead of the U." Everyone understands the need to revamp the logo given the changes to the marketing, the question people ask is why they didn't make the helmet logo like the logo on the basketball floor, which is pretty sweet.
Not too late to change it, it's just some helmet stickers.
Edit: I'll add that another thing people said is that the addition of the paw made us unique. With just a plain SD it could stand for San Diego or even SDSU. The paw gave the logo a regional flavor. If I'm correct, we are the only D1 school in the country that has Coyotes as a nickname. We need to play that up.

I did not like the paw. I liked the idea of the paw, but to me it looked more like a big, friendly dog paw then a coyote paw. I wanted the paw to be more menacing than what it was ... or maybe I am just crazy and evil, who knows.
