Massey has always been my favorite ranking/prediction site, but the USD WBB ratings/predictions have been off all year. NDSU is ranked higher than USD (133 vs 137), but USD is favored on the road?? Something is off.

Something is off. I think this team is just hard to nail down and predict. We look like rock-stars in one game and lazy or untalented in the next. I think they have all of the potential, but lack consistency. It's understandable given all the factors involved, ... but still frustrating. If given the opportunity, I would decline from betting on any of their games. For or against.

If they don't come out with a real edge tonight (after the last game and having lost to NDSU at home) I would be shocked. That said, I'm not sure who really provides that mentality for this team at the moment.

NAA coming in clutch at the end of regulation. Hit the tying 3, blocked two inbounds attempts from NDSU in the last seconds

We are in foul trouble. Will make OT tough.

We have plenty of excuses. Young team, tons of injuries, new staff, etc. We're just not a good team at this point.

Said it last time and I’ll say it again, that lanky freshman from NDSU is a big-time problem.

I believe the Yotes put up quite a fight tonight, against some very good talent at NDSU. Hamling is as lethal as ever, especially when she escapes to the corner. The way she was able to kill the clock several times in a row takes a lot of on-court experience. We should have been double-teaming her inside the lane. And the newer players they had on the court are developing nicely, but you need to have the experienced players such as Hamling and Behnke, to pull the team together. The Yotes will get back to this level. The fact that they were able to take the Bison to overtime in Fargo shows a lot of guts and passion. Were there mistakes? Sure, such as Grace driving into the lane and shooting with a few seconds left when we down by three points. But we tied it up, went to overtime, and led in OT. This is development.

Yeah, I thought they put up a good fight from what I saw. I was trying to watch some of it while I was watching the men's game right in front of me. In both losses they just haven't been able to get many stops late. And yes, Evans is a problem now and will be a problem for the next three years.
I was thinking of this yesterday...Jory Collins seems to be a pretty good coach, and he's definitely elevated a program that needed it. But look at what has had to happen for the Bison to pull off two narrow victories that could have gone either way. Losing an entire coaching staff, all five starters, and injuries to multiple other players that would have contributed. Yes, these ladies have lost a few games we think they probably could or should have won...but if I think about it that way I feel pretty good about the future of this program.

They're just a bit better right now. Hamling and Brown provide the moxie and experience that the Yotes just don't have and if I'm real honest about it I don't know if I'd trade three more seasons of Evans for anybody else in the Summit League at the moment.
And the Yotes still could have won that game.
I thought it was a great effort and a positive step for the team and staff.

tell me if I'm completely off, but I can't understand why we weren't aggressively driving into the paint at the end of the game, trying to draw fouls? For a good part of the 4th quarter we were alone in the bonus, and we were hitting free throws at a high clip. It seemed like NDSU were doing exactly what I wanted the Yotes to do (drawing fouls on drives), and eventually got into the bonus as well. We ended up finishing strong and tying the game, but for a while it looked like we were on a roll. Then we kept kicking it out to the arc for misses. IDK. I'm no basketball-savant, but it seemed like there was a clear advantage that we simply weren't taking advantage of.

Yeah, but I think you've got to give a lot of credit to Schulte and Evans for defending the only two real crunch-time penetration threats (Larkins and Duffney) without fouling as well. I thought the Bison defended Larkins' patented patient pivot and scoop as well as I've seen anybody really do it for the most part.
