You're general point remains, but they will be eligible his senior year ('25-'26). Isn't it five years a school is ineligible? '22, '23, '24, '25 and '26 It is four years, meaning 2025-26 they would be eligible (per the ESPN article from when they were approved to move up). I feel like it used to be five years though. Must have changed? I think the NCAA should just abandon the transition period altogether. The transition period isn't going to deter any schools from reclassifying, so why are we punishing the student athletes?

Well, looks like Mills doesn’t have any reason to gripe about the location this year. He never had to face a SD school.
I could still see some fans booing him today, … but then they would be in a position of cheering the Bison…. Doubtful.
Will the final be well-attended? Probably.

I'm sure the admin at ORU would happily agree to have the tournament relocated. His bosses would be thrilled to leave oodles of money on the table in the name of sticking it to South Dakota. Tonight's final will sell more tickets than any other city ever could. Move it to Tulsa, Omaha, Fargo, KC, Minneapolis, etc. Doesn't matter. This thing is staying in Sioux Falls for a while. I'd love to hear where Mills thinks the tournament should be. They have one good season and want to run the show now. Maybe they should try to play hardball with the Summit again and revisit those glorious Southland days.

I think when St Thomas is over this probation it could go to the twin cites. I would go there no problem it be fun. Tulsa has no chance Fargo needs a big arena and Omaha doesn't have a big fan base either does Denver I don't see it there. there is no reason to move it now and I think there is a contract for 5 years

How good is Rohde? I hadn’t watched the Tommies. They’re gonna be salty. Rohde is very good. He had something like 8 points at halftime, ended with 24 or so, and the last 10 minutes they ran everything through him. His freshman counterpart is an athlete! Salty, yes. The Bison have a couple freshmen guards looking pretty good also. There is young talent in the league, if they all stay put.

An alternate take from Richman:

Why would Richman say anything else? Now he gets to be the good guy in the white hat while Miles is Dr. Evil.

St Thomas is nothing on the radar up there. Was up there this past weekend visiting friends and talked about this subject. I said St. Thomas is a sleeping giant, the sentiment echoed by many across the Summit. They laughed and said you don't hear a single word about them up there. It is high school sports and then all Gophers all the time. Sure as heck the news that night was high school hockey, Gopher women hockey, Gopher men hockey, Gopher WBB, Gopher MBB, and nothing else. Not a word about the Tommies playing in the SLT. It is all Gophers all the time when it comes to college sports in MSP. That isn't changing.

Why would Richman say anything else? Now he gets to be the good guy in the white hat while Miles is Dr. Evil. True. But also take it in context. He was asked about his thoughts on having to play in front of 10,000 Jacks fans in the tournament. He said: "First of all, everything within our program is 'control what you can control, and eliminate excuses.' I mean, this is what it is, right? The tournament's here.... " and then the rest of the quote. Coachspeak or not, contrast that with the whining from Dr. Crybaby.

Richman's behavior at the end of the game on Sunday night, along with that of his team, was enough to make me cheer for ORU tonight. Not to mention his Fran McCaffrey stare down of the official at the USD - NDSU game in the SCSC this year.

might not matter with tons of money their goal is to join the big east with other Catholic schools. The big money who donated their new arena wants bigger things than the summit

Not what my friends say in the cites people cant wait in 5 years they will have a big base . 4 million people live there just not sure how big Sioux Falls is now I lived in the cities up until their first season at D1, and still listen to MSP radio daily. No one cares about St Thomas right now. If they string together some NCAA appearances then people will start paying attention. St Thomas has a lot of potential, but it will take many years to harvest that in a city with about a dozen live sport options that are currently held in higher regard (not to mention the immense entertainment alternatives). Having the Gophers in town probably hurts them too because even if St Thomas has a better team that won't be the public perception.

How good is Rohde? I hadn’t watched the Tommies. They’re gonna be salty. Rohde is the real deal although our RC Stevens guy did a great job on him defensively in Vermillion. Wouldn't be surprised to seem him transfer though simply because St. Thomas will never be eligible for the NCAAs while he's in school there. Sad fact of life. Damn...in the portal. I smell some Badger tampering too.
