The ejection early in the second quarter deflated us and gave the momentum to state. But we’ve also shot ourselves in the foot a few times. Bouman has made some questions throws and decisions in this game. SDSU knows exactly what we’re gonna do every time we have the ball.

23-3… I’m not surprised but I am disappointed. Mood’s in the shitter and I pity my family.

Not trying to be captain obvious here, but our offense needs to buck up and do something. 3 points is not enough for a team that claims to be top 10 in the country. We don't look it today. On the other hand, maybe the top 2 or 3 teams are just that much better than the rest of the pack. We look like a team that is barely better than Youngstown, and 17-3 better than Indiana St. A pretty good team, but certainly not a top 5 team, and not in States class.

They have really good players and we're making mistakes. We can't win playing how we are. Defense hasn't been great, but would likely be good enough if we were playing a little better on the other side. Offense has been disappointing today. A few bad decisions, dropped passes, a couple of blown assignments up front. Bad recipe against this team

We’re letting their defense get set and rotate out to easily allowing them to make adjustments to counteract what they see.

We're second tier which is probably as much as we can reasonably expect. Our record wouldn't be what it is if we didn't play such a cup cake early schedule. We'll know more about our team 2 weeks from now. If we win out we can say without question that we are a pretty good squad. We need to beat western and at least split the other two, otherwise we are at the mercy of the playoff committee. We just can't let this loss spill over into next week

To be fair I don’t know if any team, outside of Montana St, is in their class. I think we’re still top 10 but we aren’t top 5. This game exposes that a bit.

If anyone suggested it before the season we would have gladly taken it. I think you could make an argument that we're no better than 15. We've had 3 cupcakes on our schedule, 2 in the non con. Had we lost by 1 to ndsu we would feel very different about this team. Replace Murray with uni and it looks even worse. We're good but not as good as our record.

I hope this disappointment puts us in our place. I think we were drinking our own kool-aid a bit. Hopefully we can refocus because the next 2 weeks are going to be really physical games. We better buckle our chin straps.

Not our best performance by any stretch but teams like SDSU will make you look that way and expose weaknesses. Just not strong enough and explosive enough up front to hang consistently yet. They are really f...... good, their mixture of talent on both sides is terrific. Just keep pushing and grinding to be the best “we” can be and recruiting to try and match that level bigs.
It wasn’t one play or another play, it was a cumulative effect over time. Can’t run, can’t win!

Honestly, not what I expected, but got what we deserved today. Time to regroup and prepare for southern Illinois. Lot of football left. Be realistic and address the downfalls, but don’t lose hope. Go Yotes.

I said it last year several times. We do not have the same caliber players that state has. Last year, we didn't have a single guy on the roster that would have started for State. I'm not sure we do now either unfortunately.

I'm not sure we do now either unfortunately. I don't think that's true but it would only be a handful at best. This jacks team is really good. We are better than we showed today but not by a lot. Sometimes you just get beat by better players. Just the reality of sports.

Jacks are good, no doubt about it, but they're also fortunate to have so many players utilizing their extra covid season. I counted 30+ seniors on their roster, many/most of whom play major snaps, while USD only has 6 seniors listed. What that portends for the future I have no idea. Reminds me of our women's hoops team a few years back when we had the "big 3" all opt in for their extra season and rode that to the Sweet 16. This covid extras has to be running out one of these years I would think. I'm too lazy to do that math.
