How long is the streak against SDSU? (not a dig, I just don't remember) They have made HUGE strides - there were years where the entire match was like the 3rd set tonight. It is more fun when it is competitive.

Yotes win again!!!!!
Another frigging reverse sweep.
The VB gods punished my hubris calling for the sweep…..
Then they punished the Jacks announcer for suggesting that Sydni Schetnan was the best player on the floor… that’s when the comeback started.
Yotes win back to back season titles (a share of it)!

This team is the Cardiac Coyotes sometimes and other times the Callus Coyotes sweeping teams! Makes for exciting VB! We had fun watching them sweep the Bison Saturday after watching the Yotes take care of ND in football!!

As long as we have LW coaching us, we’ll be mentally tough to a near non-human extent. Being down 12-16 or 16-19 in the 3rd should have been the end for us. Just unbelievable belief and grit. GO YOTES! Champs!

And I think it's 28 out of 30. Or 27 of 29? Something like that.
Kiyoat posted in a different thread about this being the 5th straight year of USD being first in the Summit in attendance. Seems that being consistently good in a sport matters. Kind of funny how one state university consistently outdraws the other in a sport they are more successful in. Strange how that works.

Confirmed. Now we have won 29 of the last 31 matches, starting in the 2003 season. So we are 29-2 vs the Jacks over the last 20 years.
Also, 4 of the last 5 matches have been 5-set wins for the Yotes.

A "generation" is usually considered 20-30 years. Just a random thought....

Welp, because we're clearly no longer rivals with sdsu we should probably come up with something like a giant rock to fight over with UNO, call the local media, have our ladies march to the middle of the Vermillion to Newcastle bridge carrying a SD/Yote paw flag, meet up with UNO's volleyball team in the middle of the bridge, shake hands, look at said rock, and declare them our new rivals in volleyball... Saw that happen once somewhere at sometime...

Not to stir the pot but when it comes to volleyball I don’t really consider SDSU the main rival. Yea they’re the in-state rival that you always want to beat and there will always be that aspect. But I see Omaha and Denver as our main rivals for the sport. Omaha probably would consider us there’s as well since we’re able to recruit their backyard pretty comfortably.

The thing I never get about the Bunny "you're not our rival" nonsense: you're allowed to have more than one rival. Encouraged, even.
