Neither was a true post, but Tyler Cain and Tyler Flack were both pretty dominant in the paint.

Not related to our poor performance in that game, but that has to have been one of the ugliest courts we will have played on this year, right? I know a lot of conversations have been had about the newer "busy" designs for courts, (Oregon's puke explosion being the most seizure-inducing). Besides Oregon, I actually like some of those designs. But the dark blue court at Bakersfield was just straight-up ugly IMHO I googled "ugliest basketball courts" and found at least one online list that agreed with me: elderhsquill.org/13255/opinion/college-basketball-the-10-ugliest-courts/My wife was watching the game with me and asked if they were playing in a high school gym.

I'll be at the San Diego game so I am really hoping they don't have a travesty like that!
Hoping we can get at least one "W" on this West Coast run.

It was awful. Made it hard to watch. Then it became hard to watch for other reasons

I didn't watch last night, but can recall playing there in about 2014 and the court was just as ugly then.
There's so many courts now with ridiculous designs. This one was a true visionary for programs seeking to turn off as many people as possible. Can't imagine being a fan of a program that does something like that. Embarrassing.

If nothing else, the gym at USD-west is a nice one, Jenny Craig Pavilion (yes, that Jenny Craig). One nickname for the venue is the "Slim Gym" - ha! Which USD will win?Original USD? ... or "Mission Beach" USD? Tune in to find out...

Bruns draining a bunch of free-throws. Looks like he doesn’t miss them much.

Well that was a bummer of an ending from a game where we were up 14 at one point of the first half. Also a huge offensive performance by Bruns:

Much better effort. At least they ended the layup line that existed the prior two games. Team defense was much better. I think they got worn down a bit from the heavy defensive pressure they faced. Top 3 guys played heavy minutes. Shot poorly down the stretch and turned it over 11 times in the 2nd half.
San Diego is a decent young team. To play them close with two separate six-minute droughts without a bucket is progress. But there's a long way to go before I could say they can win three games in Sioux Falls.

Couple observations from being at the game... 1. The comment being wore down is spot on. San Diego played a lot of press and their offense forced us to move quite a bit. 2. We might have more height than we have had in recent years, we don't have quality height. When our top 2 big guys are out or in foul trouble, it is a liability. Felix plays good defense, but needs about 50 more pounds on his frame. Brack...I really don't know what to say. 3. We have too many nice guys. We need more guys like Boston that have the "killer" mentality. We let our foot off their throats and didn't finish them off. I like enthusiasm and having fun, but your opponent is the enemy at that given point. On the court you have to destroy him. Off thr court, go have a beer and be friends. I think 2 of our top 6 want to be friends with everyone.
These are just my opinions and I'm sure some will disagree.
After seeing how many show up for games in San Diego, our student athletes are very fortunate for the great fan base. If there were 300 people there for the women's game prior, I'd be surprised. Summit League officiating may raise eyebrows at time, but the officials last night were horsecrap
