On the plus side, we actually did quite well in the Turnover, Rebounding and Steals categories. We competed for boards, especially offensive boards. So those fundamental ball-control issues were not as big of issues in this game. I'll call that improvement! We also drew a ton of fouls and got to the line a lot. If the Jacks don't shoot an amazing 88% from the stripe instead of 70%, and we shoot our average 75%, that would amount to a 4-point swing.
On the bad side was that the Jacks' offense and defense were simply much more efficient than both our averages and their own averages. They put on very efficient performance. The Jacks also both shot and scored more from the arc than they normally have done in the recent past.
I think both teams took a step forward in this game. For the Yotes, if we can be that much better in the ball control department moving forward, I think we will win a lot of games against teams not named SDSU. The Jacks might just run the table at this point, if they can play that disciplined and efficiently, especially on offense.
Looking forward to some better basketball from both teams, and another State-U championship game.

Have the coaches ever heard of defense? State had open shots all night especially from 3. Offense looks lost. Long season for the ladies. goyotes.com/watch/?Archive=4776&type=Archive3:50 mark "we left perimeter player open on purpose" I'm not sure that's a sound strategy.

I'm sure she's talking about Nelson, so yeah, it probably is pretty sound. Especially when you can't really handle their big one on one.
