2024 portal

Natalie is a solid player, but not a post to build around. I wish she'd stay as she would still give us needed depth. Our post play last year was sub-par, but I believe that she was our best player at that position.

Sad to see her go since she been with the program a few years. A good rebounder and good 3 point shooter she must have thought she would lose playing time. Not sure where she will go maybe Green Bay.

Bummer. Well, at least we now have a coach, so we will see if Coach E tries to get her back in the fold, or prefers to get her own players in. At the end of the day it’s now her team, and her vision.

If Nat is part of that vision, Coach will let her know. I’m at peace with whatever happens.

I don't feel like Maz was going to be a good fit for the new coach's style. She grabbed a few boards and was efficient offensively and would have added depth to the roster but at the end of the day her defense was sub-par. I wish her the best wherever life takes her.

Interesting choice.  I remember her mentioning when she first came to USD that she did not like living in the big city.  Belmont is in Nashville.  Smaller than Chicago, I guess.

The updated portal list (top of this thread)as of yesterday is not listing Natalie, despite the news coming out on May 1.

And there it is. It was only a matter of when, not if. Heard that she was on campus today.

One thing to keep in mind...she has not played a minute of college basketball. As yotewannabe said, it might be good to add another post. They have two scholarships left. It might be perfect if they could find a grad transfer to start and play 20-25 minutes. Unless they think RLG can be an impact player from the start. Adding another post for a year would also allow Hillman to adjust to D1.

I'd love to see another tall post added through the portal this year, but Ruthie looks like a day one contributor IMO. Multi-sport athlete, long arms, good body control, and touch around the rim. I don't know anything about her defense, but Carrie's teams have always prioritized it so I'm assuming she can defend inside.
