Great to get the best athletes out of Sioux City. Need to get the Sioux City pipeline flowing to USD again. The problem is the Sioux City pipeline has been pretty dry as of late. The city used to produce a lot of athletes across multiple sports, football, baseball, and basketball. Just from when I was in high school, I knew about 30 guys from North, West, East, and Heelan that went on to play college sports at the D2 level or above and others that played D3 or NAIA. There were 6 players from Sioux City on the football team and 3 on the basketball team during the time I was at USD. In the NCC, I knew several guys who went to other teams in the conference and many, many players at Morningside. There was always one player every year or two that played major college sports (FBS/P5) whether it be football, baseball, basketball, and even track. Heck, I even knew a kid from grade school that went on to pitch in the big leagues. The number of athletes coming out of Sioux City to play college sports is not at that level today. SDSU just pulled a defensive lineman from Sioux City a couple years ago that I was trying to persuade to go to USD, but it turned out his parents are both SDSU alums. The Bruns bros are from Dakota Valley. We have two kids from Dakota Valley and Sergeant Bluff on the track team, and a signee from North. Creighton just committed a OH from Hinton. Lots of kids from the area commit to the local Christian NAIA consortium of colleges in the area every year. I’m not sure how that compares historically, but Sioux City is churning them out.

You listed a bunch of things that are not Sioux City. Talent is very thin in this town considering the city limits has a population of like 90k.

Hinton was maybe a stretch, but most people don't discriminate much between the different Siouxland communities. They’re pretty much lumped together.

Dylan is a very quick, aggressive MLB that reads plays quickly and finishes them off with a punishing tackle! I think the D in Dylan is for Defense! Great looking prospect!

He de-committed from NDSU, now us.
Agreed. I live outside Sioux City, and generally people do not differentiate between the (3) Sioux Cities unless it comes to taxes or you're looking for an exact address of a place.
