I don't mind the disrespect. It'll be that much sweeter when we exceed expectations.

I mean, they finished fourth the last two years. Hard to say it's that disrespectful.

I don't mind this placement, nor do I see it as a sign of disrespect. With a first-year coach and lot of unknowns we're somewhat of a mystery. The bunnies are obviously the clearcut favorite, but, other than that, who knows? I think we just might surprise some people.

I do kind of wonder why the Bison are where they are though.

I mean, they finished fourth the last two years. Hard to say it's that disrespectful. I get that, but NDSU lost their two best players to graduation and the portal (Hamling and Evans)... Thinking they are automatically a top-3 team is a little optimistic, I think. Or just lazy (repeating the final rankings from the previous year)... Collins is a great coach, and maybe he has gotten some great pieces coming in, but I'm not convinced the voters put a lot of thought into these polls, anyway.

The Summit headline saying that state would win a fifth straight title is a joke. No one considered them champions in that 2021-22 season. This is erasing one of the top two Summit teams ever (stiff competition with the 2019-20 USD team).

3rd or 4th seems about right. We're replacing most of our starters and breaking in a new coach. Grace will obviously be magnificent, but we'll need Hempe and Duffney to rise to the opportunity to be leaders. After them, we'll be very young (but talented). We'll most certainly have a mix of big time wins and head scratching losses. It will be interesting to see who steps up to claim the massive amount of playing time that has come available. My guess is that sooner or later, Addison Klosterbuer is going to be a big time player for us depending on when she is fully recovered and back to speed. Hopefully Ruthie Loomis-Goltl lives up to the hype as well. Go Yotes!

Im just going to post this in the preseason awards thread. Here's the full video from Hurrdat Sports with all the coach and player interviews from the Summit Media Days. I'll also post separate timestamped versions to make it easier to find individual teams.....
Warning: this video is 4 hours long (it's the live feed) -
