Saturday is Gameday, time to wake up from the post-Madison hangover.
Lindenwood is a tough one to figure out. The Lions beat UNC the first game of the season yet lose to Missouri S&T (fka Missouri-Rolla) last week, and only score 13 pts in the loss? We know all about Mo S&T having taken them to the woodshed a few times over the years. Lindenwood is either Jeckyll & Hyde or UNC just stinks. After watching the Yotes beat on UNC last season (they were one of the poorer teams to come to the Dome), I'm going with UNC stinks.
Yotes 42 Lindenwood 13

I'm looking forward to the game for a few reasons. First, I wanna see how 'Yotes respond from last week's game. Yeah, they got beaten by a better team but I hope there's no carryover. Second, we've never seen this team before. I'm not interested in any long term rivalry with the Lions but it's fun to me to see a different uniform line up against us. I hope I'm not the only person at the game too!

Lindenwood should be an easy victory for the Yotes. If SD comes out flat though it could be a tough game - they look like they can throw the ball well, have a few shifty skill position players, and as a program are used to winning.
Have to give them credit for going to UNC and getting a W. UNC may be terrible this year, but a pretty bad UNC team beat up on the Yotes two years ago.

What's the most important game of the year right now?
Answer: This one.
Prepare for (or worry about) other games as they come. Lindenwood definitely wants to upset us. I hope we will respond in kind.
Never take any game for granted. 'Nuf said......

The Yotes need to be carefull with this one. No matter what Ed says to the team to try to get them motivated the players need to see it for themselves on the field if Lindenwood is for real. If USF could go in a knock off North Dakota Lindenwood at worst should be able to make the Coyotes sweat it out.
If Lindenwood is a team that is going to come in and sling it around the field I believe they will make this a very good game. The Yotes can have problems with teams that try to pass against them much more than a team with equal or lesser talent that tries to run it between the tackles. If Lindenwood is going to try to run as their primary offense it's gonna be a long day for them. If their strength and gameplan is to pass I think they will have some success. One thing USD has always done well under Meierkort is to take care of lesser teams that come into the dome. The biggest example to the contrary is when Wisconsin-LaCrosse came in and got into a shoot out with the Yotes and nearly won during Meierkort's early years.
This is very much a trap game before the big Dakota Days game next week. It would be great if this game was well in hand going into halftime but regardless of how people view it, this team defeated Northern Colorado on the road so they obviously need to be taken very seriously.

Look at the empty stands on both sides of the field.
If I were a football recruit, there is no way I would go to USD.
I don't know if I would go there a just a regular student.
I don't think winning can even help the lack luster spirit.

With your wonderful use of the English language, I don't believe you would be admitted.

I think he forgot an "r" between the "D" and "a".

Easy Dr. Dank: Let's be realistic about the situation. This was Lindenwood, about as low as you can get on the interest meter. I am doubting any of us have ever heard of the school until they arrived on our schedule, and Lindenwood sounds more like a street name than an actual school. Plus, this was the second straight no-name laugher home game--hard to get fired up for that two times in a row. Yes, it would be nice if the fan base showed up no matter what, but I doubt we will be talking too much about open seats next week.

I was not at the game today but by the sounds of it and the 30-0 score I would have to call that a very solid performance by the Yotes.

I was at the game today and I would ahve to sum it up in one word: LETHARGIC.
I am not certain lethargic is bad, it's just the way it was. I do think it obviously was a letdown from Madison, and the crowd was smaller and quiet. Normally I come down on the crowd but there just wasn't any energy.
Now about the game. I was proud of our defense. They were given a couple of opportunities to give up points but they didn't. So that's good. VanderMaten took over as QB with about 8 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, and we never saw Dante again. I was told he was icing his hand but I don't know that. It had to be great experience for Josh though.
We did what we had to do. If we play like this next week, we will get killed. I don't think that will happen, but who knows. It's time to get the Dome rocking.

According to Jeremy Hoeck of the P&D, Dante suffered a hand injury but the X-rays were negative. Too early to tell for SUU.

Agreed, the whole atmosphere was just flat. To look up at the scoreboard and see that we pitched a 30 point shutout would have been hard to believe. The running game was, for the most part, non-existent. The passing game was, well, also non-existent. The defense was the only excitement on the field. They totally dominated and showed their QB what the Dome ceiling looks like five times. Maybe the level of competition isn't what it will be next season but we gotta find a spark for next week or it could be ugly!

There was a moment of Coyote solidarity in the second half. There was a penalty against Lindenwood but when the ref announced "first down South Dakota State" the few people that were there soundly booed him.
