Discipline. Character.
We'll see if this team has it, or will they crumble.

Can the defense stop these guys? I expect a lot of run coming USD's way this drive!

FG.
Ok, at least it's something on a good drive. Some character showing through.

I cannot remember this many penalties on special team plays ever.

That was a physical domination by NDSU. Their D-line were Men.
NDSU offensive line took charge in the second half.
Good Opponent - my guess is they will do well the rest of the season.
Have to correct the errors and penalties - that really made a difference.
Let's regroup and get ready to make some noise for UND.

My take,
My player of the game goes to Dante Warren. I am so amazed by what he has done this year. He has been great and he did absolutely everything he could in this game. Great job Dante.
I believe that the offense, defense, special teams and the waterboys all had a complete colapse during the second half. The Yotes looked like their balloon just lost all it's air it had so impressively gathered over the past couple of weeks.
I am having a very difficult time deciding if the defense or offense is the reason the Yotes lost this one. With the reputation of the O they deserve to have the D bail them out once in awhile. With the poor reputation of the D over the years it's difficult to continually watch USD struggle so much on that side of the ball as often as they do.
There are two ways of looking at the D and their fails today. Either it's the players just not being good enough or it's the scheming and coaches just not being savy enough. In my opinion it's a combination of both but all I can say is that the entire defense deserves a big kick in the butt for that second half performance. Myself, my cousin, the USD alumni the Coyote Fans of the nation all deserve a consistantly better defense than what we have been getting.
The offense stunk and I think Wes got his butt kicked by the Bison defense and their game planning. I said pre game that we couldn't afford to get too predictable and that is what happend. USD ran on the first down way too much. I wanted the Yotes to come out throwing the football and they did to a point but I just didn't see the attacking mentality that was there at Minnesota.
The penalties are something that is not surprising, what is surprising is that there are too many games that this Coyote team comes off as very undisciplined. The lessons never seem to get learned when it comes to the Yotes beating themselves.
Next week The Coyotes need to beat UND by 3 touchdowns. I will settle for a 1 point win but I think the Yotes need to come out and look to blow the logo off their helmet.

The Coyotes came out and marched down the field and scored, sent a message. I have to give credit to your QB....he is a good one. He is elusive and tough. His passing was ave but put him in the open field and he makes plays. Our defense made some adjustments at halftime and really shut down the Coyote offense in the 2nd half. Your defense is OK but finally our O-line has come together as a unit. The yote defense stacked the line in the 1st half and our QB had alittle trouble but he did enough in the 2nd half to open up the running game. Our passing game opened up the running game tonight. Saw some yote red tonight and they cheered in the 1st half. That was a good team the Bison beat tonight. If your defense stiffens up some more this year, you can run the table.

Totally agree. They need to get things figured out a little bit. Way too many penalties. Personal fouls are uncalled form, even if it is an away game. They just kill the momentum. Then every kick or punt return, we had a block in the back or a hold. Its all about discipline. Coyotes looked good first half but kind of looked deflated in the second half. The bison o-line and d-line wore down the yotes and they were able to get about 8 or 10 yards per carry all second half. Hopefully the yotes can get all this worked out in practice this week to take care of UND this week.

Wow, the defense decided to forget how to tackle, and the outside linebackers didn't even show up in the second half. Plus even Shae Potter was getting pushed around. This was an all around bad effort by the defense in this game plain and simple. Things have to change soon, or USD's season will go south quickly against this tough schedule.

NDSU was more Physical than USD in the second half and it showed on the scoreboard. The Bison O-Line and D-Line took control.
USD's young D-Line was really handled for the most part with one-on-one blocks and that allowed the other blockers to get down field on Shane Potter and Co.
Mix in numerous costly penalties, some uncharacteristic drops by the receiving core and some poor tackling and we know the result.
USD needs to bounce back with a strong showing against UND. I am guessing they will come into the Dome and expect to win after watching the NDSU v USD game.

NDSU really surprised me last night. They are not the 3-8 team of last year. I think they will have a very good season and should contend for the MVFC title.
That said the Coyotes had control of this game but came out in the 2nd half and laid a complete egg.
Nothing more to say, very disappointed but next week is another game and let's beat the Sioux.
