Honest to Christ, what is it you want? What is going to attract the " average fan" as you put it? Bands at half? Acrobats? What is it that you expect and yet hold the ticket price to what it is? Just answer me that. I have actually been very tame on my comments on the basketball program for quite awhile before this season. I am seeing some troubling things. I am either listening on the radio or watching online almost every game so I have a reasonable understanding of what is going on. So what is it that I want? I want a team that I know is giving their best effort at least a majority of the time. I don't think we are seeing that but maybe I am just totally wrong. 0-5 tells another story. Not playing better against Southern Utah at home tells a story. I guess if asking for better than a 0-5 start in the Summit is asking too much than Coyote fans are in REAL, REAL trouble. If I was complaining when the Yotes were 2-3 in the Summit and drawing at least 2K per game that would be a different story but I think it's more than fair to complain a little bit about what we are seeing all around when it comes to mens basketball. But you haven't answered my question. What do you want David Sayler to do to cater to the average fan? Complaining about this team is not an answer. What is Sayler doing for his "special" boosters that you would like to see for the "average fan"? I am not arguing with you about this years team. Something seems to be drastically wrong. They don't play hard, they play without emotion. I could go on. This is not Coach Boots best work. There does seem to be trouble. BUT I WANT YOU TO ANSER MY QUESTION ABOUT THE AVERAGE FAN AND WHAT YOU NEED EXTRA TO WARRANT YOUR BEING AT GAMES. You have complained incessantly about how they are doing things to lose the average fan. What are those things?

Build a new arena (being worked on hopefully) 2. have a better radio broadcast. It looks like changes have been made so the jury is still out on that one. 3. Have much more advertising of Coyote sporting events. 4. Have a much better video production to watch live online games. 5. Have more radio coverge of non game events such as coaches shows, Coyote Sports talk etc. I like KVHT for the flagship but am not sure if I am sold on Van Gohr as the play by play guy. Seemed like the convenient option without truley looking into someone worthy of a D1 job. Maybe I will like him in time but he seems like small time South Dakota, Mount Marty type broadcaster. Van Gohr seems like the typical old school USD type selection. 6. Allow single game ticket sales to count towards Coyote points. 7. Don't reserve huge area's of dome parking for VIP's only to see many spots sit empy. 8. Do a little bit better for halftime entertainment 9. Encourage cheering for basketball games and have a motto where it's better to tell someone to stand up and cheer than for someone to tell others to sit down and stop cheering so they can see.

Wow really? The typical old school USD guy? So you would rather have someone like Swain or someone else from who knows where come in and be the voice of the coyotes? What is wrong with having someone come in that is actually a Coyote Fan? I also like how you keep complaining about the attendance at games. Like you have said, you can't really afford to come from SF for single games or a game at all, well have you ever thought that some other people that have been supporters in the past can't really afford it right now too?

Solution accompolished with donated funds from Power Ball winnings by CF. Its that simple. No 9, aw shucks old farts like me come to sit and watch, thats why there are back chairs in the first place.

You have complained incessantly about how they are doing things to lose the average fan. What are those things? Ok here is what can be done to cater to the average fan. You ask you shall get 1. Build a new arena (being worked on hopefully) -Agree2. have a better radio broadcast. It looks like changes have been made so the jury is still out on that one. -In progress. While Joe isn't my first choice he was the SD Broadcaster of the year. Let's give him a shot.3. Have much more advertising of Coyote sporting events. -Umm, I see billboards all the time, the "Have a Friend for Dinner" one comes to mind.4. Have a much better video production to watch live online games. -Never watched a game online so can't comment. I will say I would like USD to do something like SiouxSports, which I was watching their weekly show on Midco last night. Very well done.5. - I'll agree with the need for coaches shows & Coyote Sports talk. See my thoughts on SiouxSports Extra.6. Allow single game ticket sales to count towards Coyote points. -No. the whole point of Coyote Points is to make a commitment to the program.7. Don't reserve huge area's of dome parking for VIP's only to see many spots sit empy. -I've never had problems getting a parking spot at or around the Dome. With the lack of fans at basketball games this problem should be even less.8. Do a little bit better for halftime entertainment -U Dance, need I say more. Good enough for me. This is college athletics, what do you expect other than the band and the drill/dance team?9. Encourage cheering for basketball games and have a motto where it's better to tell someone to stand up and cheer than for someone to tell others to sit down and stop cheering so they can see. -I just take care of that myself. There is no policy the U could enforce for this. Ask Nebraska Football, they have the same problem.I'll also add that right now there should be no complaints about premium seating. Witht he lack of attendance I just go in and sit in the wooden bleachers. Good seats and nobody has stopped me yet. [/quote]

Lots of comments about poor crowds at home games and that is true. If you go back and check crowds at SDSU games at this stage and they weren't much different. Western IL has a good enough team to drill the Yotes 67-44 and their crowd of 370 that night must lite up their boards. Please show up, it will get better!
