Living in Brookings now for work, the experience is far worse than I ever could have imagined. Very different culture than Vermillion's, not an intelligent bunch either. Telling them to look at where they were 5-6 years ago does nothing since they are all a bunch of t-shirt fans who came on board in the last couple years and have no idea how awful those teams were. Spent a day working at the basketball arena, which I had heard was essentially the MSG of the Northern Plains, with a student who constantly brags about how amazing Wolters is, and the guy didn't even know where the bathrooms were. There's a die hard fan who goes to all the games.
My favorite is when the argument of which school is superior comes up. That school is an absolute joke unless you are looking at Pharmacy or Nursing. I had no idea you could get a degree in Agribusiness until I moved up here, why in God's name is that a thing? Can't cut it in real business school? An endowment that more than doubles the school with a higher enrollment speaks for itself.

Not sure why but I'll bite: We all have our thoughts but you lose all credibility with the Ag Business comment. I dont do anything with agriculture but do you know where you live? Brookings, SOUTH DAKOTA. There's agriculture everywhere. You should move to California. Then again, this is smack. Carry on.
