Funny, I heard something similar last night but with an expedited time frame, like as soon as this season is over work was going to start. Part of the infrastructure is already there with the basketball court and weight room up top, that will be the concourse, underneath the locker rooms, and a grandstand mirroring the east side. Could be that soon, but need a lead gift. Infrastructure costs are related to utilities, equipment and mechanical - not so much structural elements. You are correct that the supporting elements are in place.

I would think that would not be that difficult to do. In the email for suggestions I put that they should open another concourse where the old weight room is and add seats to that side. Also add another entrance over there as it gets crowded by the main entrance. That is the eventual plan.

That's very good news. Look forward to hopefully hearing something soon.
If the USD website is still accurate the naming rights for the Dome appear to be on the table. I would think someone out there would want a crack at having their name on an iconic piece of South Dakota. But then again I've never had 20 million dollars to know how hard it would be to donate that sum of money away.
When something is finally announced it should help draw some more interest knowing the project is happening for sure.

Was at the volleyball game tonight. Nice win for the coyotes. The arena is awesome as expected. There isn't a bad seat in the place. The only complaint I have, along with many others tonight, is the sound system. It sounded as bad as the one in the dome or worse. No one could understand anything he was saying. There has got to be a way something can be adjusted to make it more clear.

I hope this can be attributed to this being the first event being held in the building and that the issue is resolved. No expense was spared in the rest of the facility so it's hard to believe we bought a cheap sound system.

How was everything else, other than the sound? Heard they had a cool intro?

OMG I cannot believe it. We are hearing people say something less than excellent about the new arena. That should not be happening. Only nice things can be said about the arena. There is nothing wrong with it, and even if there is it certainly shouldn't be talked about in public. I can't believe I read something honest and unbiased. When I put in my two cents about the floor there was practically war declared on me for those remarks. Woooaaahhh!!!

Oh man that looks so cool. They had these in the concept last for the arena but I figured they were cut from the plan since I hadn't seen them since those concepts.

At least that is something easily fixed. I hope it is anyway. You would think they would have had someone there adjusting it on the fly since it sounded so bad.

Curious to know if anyone has heard anything recently about the Dome renovations...? Is there a plan to release details soon? What is the time frame for completing the project once it starts? Has anyone seen architectural drawings of the plan? Seems like this taking longer to get started than originally planned... or am I wrong on that...?
