This is a very encouraging article--UNI is an established FCS/MVFC program, and these are exactly the type of recruiting "battles" that we need to be winning to reach that level and beyond. Go Yotes!

These are some great recent recruits to add to what was already a very good class. It is very encouraging for the future of the program.
I have been looking at the 2012 roster, especially the freshman who were red shirted, and will expect some will begin to make a difference in 2013.
Congratulations to the coaches on your recruiting efforts, and to the incoming 2013 freshman, for making the right choices!
Regarding recruiting, there may be an analogy with graduates of military academies who, in some circles, are called "ring knockers" because some of them rap their academy rings on the meeting table to draw attention to themselves, or differentiate themselves from their ROTC officer brethren. (I was neither, just a poor enlisted farm boy) At any rate, I would suspect Joe Glenn could sit down to the kitchen table with a recruit, and his family, and not have to be a ring knocker with his 3 national championship rings to draw attention to his past and future goals.

Jon Maag a 6'5" 250 lb. OL from Scottsbluff, NE. All-state Class B, region and conference in track and field (shot and disc). A raw talent, but has the measurables. Only started playing FB in 9th grade. www.hudl.com/athlete/145935/highlights/22278374

Per JH: Glenn told him he expects 31 letters on signing day! THIS is how you build a program. It's not X's and O's, it's the Jimmies on Joes, as Barry Switzer would say.

When my son was being recruited by Glenn initially, an assistant from Northern Colorado (who worked with Glenn in the past) said to us that "coach Glenn wins his championships in the living rooms". He may be correct.

Interesting. The HC at Northern CO. told another recruit to come there because of race and tried to make the assertion that Glenn would be gone in a year.

I took the No. Colorado Asst's comment as a compliment for Glenn. He does a great job with face-to-face recruiting and communicating well with parents and players. Its important to make contact and to build bonds with the families.

Is there a coach in America that can promise you he will be at the same school in 4 years? If they are having success everyone worries they will make a jump to a better program...If they aren't winning championships people want to run them out of town. Look at the mans record. How many times has he left a job unfinished? My research didn't reveal any.
All the coaches I talked to had nothing but positive things to say about coach Glenn. That includes MVC coaches. Not all of them think he will turn USD around, but they all say he is a man of integrity and he knows how to win.
I for one am looking forward to the next 4 years.

I heard that SDSU's coach has a coach at a high assistant level position at Oregon since Chip Kelly left. The contract will be finalized on Monday. That's not true, but see how easy that is to say a coach can leave, whether it's Glenn or anyone?
