Maybe ECT was Stig’s self imposed penalty?

I've wondered if something was up. The last few games (ORU, Omaha) we've had zip, zero, nada about our games in the paper, at least in the online edition. Anyway, thanks Mick for all you've done. You'll be missed and best wishes for a prosperous future. As for Zimmer, I'm not holding my breath on him doing anything for USD.

I think Brian Harnchen is getting the USD beat, what little they’ll probably cover us now.

Don't hold your breath on getting anything from Zimmer. There are several fans that have pushed Matt's buttons.

Pink slip. Reduction in staff

Pink slip. Reduction in staff That's just sad. For a city the size of Sioux Falls and growing, the Argus just doesn't provide much in the way of newspaper. I realize the business as a whole is struggling, but now they're even cutting back on the USA today insert and making the paper smaller. Other area dailies seem to be holding on better in towns with a lot smaller markets. Anybody know what the "Fargo Forum" looks like? That would be an apt market comparison I would think.

If not for this thread I'm not sure I ever would have realized a change took place. Consumers are getting their media very differently today and the Argus simply has not been the one satisfying my needs. It's possible they never could have covered USD the way I desire and made a profit, but the point stands.

Special occasion. Rarely did he attend road basketball games.

You’re probably right. I don’t travel with the guys team like I do football. He did go to all football games I know.

I realize the topic of Argus coverage has been beaten to death on here, but it was obvious nobody from the Argus had travelled with the men or women's basketball teams for these past three road games, nor does it appear that anyone at the sport's desk even knew they were taking place. Not one word in the online edition on any of the six games, but the RC Journal and the P&D both manage to carry articles. Bunny games get full coverage though even when they're on the road. Tea High School has more articles up on the online sports section than USD does last time I checked. I hope their faithful can keep the Argus afloat because I'm done and I'll be the third one in my family to go. Too many news sources out there to pay for what has become a sad relic of the past.
