There was mention on Mick Garry's Live Chat today about the Yotes playing Oklahoma... Scrolling back through this thread, I found that Cousin Eddie posted a tweet saying we would play them in 2019.
I just checked our schedule and their schedule, it isn't posted on either site yet, but it looks like the only weekends that would be open for this right now would be Labor Day weekend (Sept 7th) or two weeks later (Sept 21)... Anyone know when the official announcement of date will be made?
Labor Day weekend would be perfect!!!

No clue about announcements. But in the spring practice thread is where the letter from coach talks about it. My guess would be Labor Day though.

Drake campus isn't in the greatest part of town but it is very close to downtown Des Moines. Very fun downtown with loads of bars and restaurants. I plan on holding court at the Hessen Haus and then moving the party over to the High Life Lounge. So this game may have some 'extra' for the fans and administration... |

It will be interesting who we open with in 2019. Lower level opponent or FCS team? Too much risk in FCS game? Augie, USF, another date with Drake? At least Drake is FCS but should be a W.

Please no more Drake. They just bring no interest and the normal fan is going to be at best luke warm for them. A game with USF would be more interesting and intriguing assuming they would be a top 25 D2 program. I will take a home and home with a scholarship FCS any day and preferably not a big sky opponent. |

No way we ever play the Sioux Falls schools. If we have to go lower level it will be someone a bit farther away that we've likely never heard of. |

Only reason I mentioned a USF or Augie is because it would sell tickets. I'd prefer someone at FCS level in the mold of Drake so we can have best of both worlds. Get a W and have it be an FCS team.

We won't play any lower level game for one reason, one good reason, playoffs. If it's not a D1 opponent it doesn't count so there is no point playing it.
Augie? USF? You guys are off your rocker.
