I don't think the football game should be worth 2 points anyways. If the game is that special give it its own trophy.

This is the stupidest thing I've seen in a while. The only sport that matters is football. Maybe MBB.

I'd bet a significant sum of money that if the first post in this thread had been accurate, you would have posted a statement 180 degrees opposed to the above. In any event, I'm not aware of any SDSU fan (or USD fan other than the one who started this thread) who is excited about the showdown.

Volleyball, MBB, WBB and track are all worth more than one point. Lets not be bitter.

I think the Showdown will take time, and marketing, if it is going to draw excitement from the fan base.
I believe if the goal is to design a point system to judge overall student athletics, they did a good job.
I think there should be freedom for individual sports (Football especially) to have its own trophy.
Also, since the Yotes didn't win this year, ho-hum, let's move onto next year. I think the Yotes have a good chance of holding sports they won, and a lot of opportunities to pick up points (especially M&W BB, maybe Soccer, and FB is in the realm of possibility, in the Dome).

No one cares, or at least I don't. And didn't SDSU win 14-13? Maybe I'm wrong. Whatever.

What's funny is that SDSU says USD doesn't matter for how long and has said that USD isn't on the same playing stage as SDSU. While USD didn't win the cup, they only lost by a game or a point or whatever it is. So apparently SDSU isn't running away with athletics as much as they would like to believe.
Plus what happens after they lose the second best SD native in the NBA draft? Yes, I would draft Colton Iverson over Nate Wolters any day in the upcoming draft.
