Keep telling yourself that. Maybe one day, it will come true. By the way, not impressive? Three FCS playoff appearances, 2 Men's BB trips to the NCAA, 5 Women's trips to the NCAA, 1 Baseball trip to the NCAA, 1 VB trip to the NCAA and 1 soccer trip. Our Women's BB, will dominate the conference and USD next year. Take a peek at the roster. This could be the best SDSU Women's team ever. Even better then the one that finished top 25 and two points shy of beating Baylor to go on to the Sweet 16. Our Men's BB will have little trouble with USD and FB? Well lets just say USD will again finish in the bottom half of the conference while SDSU will be fighting UNI and NDSU for the top. But hey, feel good; you have Women's SB. Didn't have to get more than a couple sentences in before my eyes started to roll. Your baseball trip is as irrelevant as your sheep shagging titles (I guess someone has to win the SL baseball title), your VB team is absolute crap, and you'll never have the same success in WBB again with us in the picture. Our track and softball teams also blow you out of the water, and I guess you choose to ignore that we'll likely be competing at a top level in football soon as well. We'll be winning this trophy more often than not, enjoy what titles you can get from your five-year head start. Regarding WBB: I like our chances. SDSU is getting the best player from South Dakota since Becky Hammon and is now getting one of the top 2015 recruits in the state of Minnesota ( Madison Guibert is getting offers from high major program but still chose SDSU). SDSU has the possibility of having 3 former Miss Basketball on their roster in 2015 with Young, Miller, and Guebert. And add all the other solid recruits coming and proven role players and you have the chance to be one of the best SDSU teams have put together. SDSU is and always will be the class of the Summit come WBB. You better have enjoyed your trip to the NCAA's this past season because it wont be happening again anytime soon. Weird how SDSU gets all the top local recruits from Minnesota and South Dakota and still dominate. What big shot recruit is coming in to replace Seekamp after this upcoming season? Also how is USD going to replace Harrington this season? To me it seems like USD could be in some trouble once the 2015 season rolls around. Prove me wrong?

Good to hear about SDSU's recruiting, maybe next year's SL tourney matchup with the Yotes won't be such a yawner!

Recruiting hype is fun to speculate about as fans, but wait until these people put uniforms on before assuming they'll make for your best team yet. I honestly can't say what hot shots are coming in to be the future of the Yotes, other than this year's MWC 6th player and SD native Caitlin Duffy. I haven't followed the recruiting closely, perhaps other posters can tell you more on that, but high recruiting rankings mean nothing until they put a uniform on. I trust the staff though, and I'm sure they'll continue to bring in great young women to lead the program.

We will win the next 3 obviously...but 14-7 is bad.We know we will only get better. That score will be a lot wider towards our way next year. oops 15-6 is really bad

Meh, we're only in our second year as a full member of division one. You go on and take pride in that.

Here's my take on it. They're beating us pure and simple. No excuses. Let's get this done. I do think we are closing the gap but still have a ways to go.
In the words of Larry the Cable Guy: let's git 'er done

I'm on record as being in the group who thinks the Showdown is ho-hum and I have no idea why I took another look at this smack thread. But I did. Yotes: you think it's a significant retort to state USD is relatively new to Division I. I have read posts by some USD fans who get upset when some SDSU fans have teased about SDSU going DI first. You haven't read me making that statement about SDSU. To me, who went first is no longer relevant to much and I understand USD fans who laugh at that claim. We're both DI. But, Yotes, should a claim that USD went second be some sort of defense? Defense to what?

Meh, we're only in our second year as a full member of division one. You go on and take pride in that. Both schools have had and are having success. By the end of our second year as a full DI institution. We had sent four sports to the NCAA tournaments, one twice. Women's basketball twice and soccer, football and volleyball once each. We have both sent individuals on to post season and USD has a national champion. As of now SDSU has sent six different sports to their respective post season NCAA tournaments a total of 14 appearances. Of the sports that have team based tournaments, only softball has not made it. There will always be ups and downs, this year happened to be and up year for SDSU in the intrastate rivalry, although there were some surprises on both sides, women's basketball at the Summit league tournament and women's outdoor T&F most notably. Whether we are in our first year or 20th year is irrelevant at this point. What is relevant is the performance on the fields and courts.

I feel it is worth noting that we are still feeling the growing pains of the transition, though we are certainly coming out of it. Some programs make it through the transition better than others, and it might also be worth mentioning that you didn't have to compete with us for D-1 recruits during your transition, perhaps allowing you to have more success than you would have if we moved at the same time, but I believe we were still feeling some lasting effects of the transition this year. Nevertheless, excuses are worthless. I applaud the DSUs for going D-1 when we were dragging our feet, I can't believe we all didn't move up like thirty years ago. We have been improving each year, and will continue to make significant steps forward in the future. I like what I see in the program, I am very excited to see just how well these next few years play out for us. This trophy, as ho-hum as it is, will see very few years like this one going forward.

Bunny fans showing a little desperation, with the window of opportunity closing quickly, who would have guessed?

Bunny fans showing a little desperation, with the window of opportunity closing quickly, who would have guessed? HeHe This years score doesn't show its closing. It actually got A LOT wider compared to last years score. But okay.... I don't know what posts are coming off as desperate but most of them are stating facts like SDSU finishing in the top 3 in the conference in 4 of the 6 major college sports (mbb, wbb, fball, baseball, softball, vball). Sorry about that?
