I know this is a huge "What If" and I haven't booked my flight to Frisco yet, but what if the Yotes win 4 of the remaining 5 games and make the playoffs or since I am speculating, win all 5 remaining games and have a chance to host a game(s)? How will the Dome scheduling conflicts between football and mens & womens basketball be solved? I believe the football playoffs start the Saturday after Thanksgiving and continue for the 3 following weekends with the Championship game in Frisco the first Saturday in January. Men's basketball first home game is Nov 30 and the women's first home game in Nov 24.
If not this year, definitely not beyond the realm of possible for next year.

If we made the playoffs this year, I imagine it would be by the skin of our teeth and we likely would not host a game.
In the future though, that is a very interesting thought. We need to get that basketball arena built pronto! How long does it take to convert from basketball to football? I hope our AD has the foresight to not schedule any home basketball games during the playoffs on fridays or saturdays. I would also hate to see us miss out on hosting a playoff game due to high school playoffs.

I never in my wildest dreams even remotely thought we could talk about the playoffs, and it is still premature, but as Coach Glen said at the press conference after the last home win, there's nothing wrong with dreaming. So lets dream.
First of all, unless we would upset NDSU the last game of the year, this game is imperative we win. Or if we did lose, then we would have to convincingly beat Youngstown State, Montana, and SDSU. There isn't a game of those three that we can't win. There also isn't a team in that group that can't beat us as well. So in my eyes, at road win Saturday would enhance our chances immensely. If the NCAA takes 3 Valley teams, and we take care of business, we have a good shot. I would guess it to be NDSU, then 2 of the remaining 3. USD, ISU, or YSU. If we won Saturday and beat YSU, I think we'd be in. Winning Saturday, and the two remaining home conference games I think should put us in. If we slip Saturday, then I think it comes down to winning the remainder of the home games. Or if we slip twice, then I would think we'd have to beat the Bison the last week.
Again, never in my wildest dreams did I see us talking about Saturday as a huge game for playoff contention. But it is what it is, so lets get 'er done.

This years high school state championship games are the same weekend as the game against the Bunnies. With regards to basketball scheduling, it is difficult to get quality home nonconference games and even more so, if you eliminate Fridays and Saturdays. The lack of a dedicated basketball arena is why we are playing a mens game in Rapid City and a womens game in the Pentagon.

No way man, we need to go at least 4-1 down the stretch. We would never get into the playoffs with 5 losses, and 4 is no sure thing. If our 4 wins are the Valley games then we win the conference, if we win all but the NDSU game we are probably 60/40 in, if we beat NDSU and three more teams I'd say we are 90/10 in. No team with 4 losses got an at large bid last season, though the field does expand from 20 to 24 teams this year adding 3 more at large bids (Pioneer Conference now gets an autobid as well).

The men's game in Rapid is not because of Dome availability. Game is Dec 7th and both men and women Are playing as a West river promotion.
