I also wonder about Caitlin's health because her minutes just don't make sense. I really don't see the reason for not playing McKeever though because she is that type of spark plug that seems to be what this team wants to be all about. If it was ISU's strategy to take out the guards that is fine but with a 4 guard lineup they can't double all of them. In the future if the lineup is Duffy, Trimboli, Arens and Bradley all in the game someone is going to be open and all can shoot the rock.
The Yotes should be a deeper team so they should have more energy to spend. With that in mind there is absolutely no reason they should not be at least respectable on defense if not really good. Dawn does recognize that and mentioned the D needing to be better on the post game. With many guards a high pressure ball denying D should work really well. That type of team should create many turnovers and ISU turned it over a lot. The Coyotes are naturally talented scorers so they need to focus much of their energy in practice and in preaching on the D end. If they can get that part down consistently (and D always travels) then the Yotes will be really good. If the D struggles then they will be sort of good.
Also, am I the only one who thinks McKeever should be getting more of Allison Arens' minutes. Our two biggest runs of the game were the end of the first half and beginning of the second. Both were when Arens was out. I feel as though defenses have figured her out much more than last year where she was able to really sneak up on them. Plus, McKeever brings energy. I agree with Coyote Fan re: our deeper team. If someone is playing poorly, you should ride who is playing well. We got up 8 at the beginning of the second half, then subbed in three or four new people and lost it again.
