#1CF I cut and paste these when I receive them from David Herbster or Mark Maturi. The HP BOD gets these emails every day. I just pass them along on here. I don't actually go out and find these articles. But I would like to post more Daily Republic stuff. The originator of the list is Amil from USD SID office. He sends to Herbster or Maturi, who send to us, and then I post.

KTIV Yankton's ice venue viewed as a community success www.ktiv.com/Global/story.asp?S=13777054 ^^^This. I was at the opening ceremony for the State PeeWee Tournament in Yankton this morning. The keynote speaker was our own AD Sayler. Gave a very nice talk about winning, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The highlight for me was when he mentioned he wants to bring college hockey to USD and when or if that does happen it could be many years down the road, etc, etc. I've said all along that it is on the radar at the U. Not in the near term, but on the radar. Many here have said "never". There are a lot of kids in South Dakota growing up playing hockey now. All the major population centers have youth leagues. Or maybe he could have been playing to the crowd. Either way, it was nice to hear. In case you're wondering #7 seed Yankton upset #2 seed Pierre to advance to the second round today.

Have fun with Title IX, USD is already having problems with that. Hockey would only add another major expense plus many USD in noncompliance of Title IX. Just saying, hockey would be a badddddddddddddd idea. Club hockey in Vermillion, now that would be a good idea.
