Coyotes and Denver open Summit action Saturday in the Dome. DU returns 10 from last years team that was 22-10 while in the WAC and cochampions. Only common opponent both have faced this year is WY which DU beat by 3 and the Coyotes lost to recently in OT by 1. Should be a great game. Go get'em YOTES!!!

Denver definitely hasn't played up to where I expected them to be at this point, but they also have had quite a difficult schedule (3rd in the Summit, basically even with us but waaay behind NDSU). They had a three-game stretch where they won at Colorado State, beat Wyoming at home, then absolutely smashed Belmont, but they have looked rather average outside of that stretch. They are coming off a 1-point loss at St. Josephs, a middling A10 team, which would have been a nice win for them.
Coming into the season I expected this to be the toughest game on our home schedule besides NDSU, but right now I'm more concerned about IPFW, and UNO. I'll still very gladly take a win, and think that our guys have the ability to take this, and about anyone in the conference, at home. Let's get conference play off on the right foot. Go Yotes!

Agreed! Started slipping away a bit at the very end but we held on. We need to learn to put these teams away. Get that lead up to 10 in the second half and keep the foot on the gas.

It might be lame to say, but I'm impressed that our boys were able to overcome the refs at the end of the game. There were some just terrible calls against us, but our defense was able to hold strong in very impressive fashion. Great win over a team many thought would win the conference. Only 13 more wins to sweep the conference slate!

Nice job Yotes!
Thought we played very well at times.
Other times not so much.
Good win against a pretty salty Denver squad.

Great win Coyotes!! Obviously we need to work on our ball possession and not have all the turnovers in the last 5 minutes. None the less, great start to the conference season!!!

We need to take care of the ball a little better at the end and learn that there is a 10 second call. I also thought it was funny towards the end when we were burning some clock, there was a guy sitting behind me a ways just screaming to shoot the ball. Get a clue man!

Some fans definitely need to learn when to keep their mouths closed. There were a few courtside fans who were giving the refs hell, and then trying to get some remarks in as the refs left the court. That kind of behavior is never going to help us out, and if anything might make some officials hold a grudge against us in the game and into the future. Anyone else find it very peculiar that IPFW suddenly is apparently the team to beat in the Summit? How out of nowhere is that? They put away both DSUs, Denver lost to us, and Omaha lost to a mediocre WIU squad. Very weird, but making next Saturday's game a heck of a lot more interesting than I would have ever expected it to be.

The Coyote win was even more impressive when you consider that 3 Coyotes had been very sick recently. Way to gut it out Yotes!!!

Great You Tube video of post game press conference. The last 30 or so seconds of the video with Gruis's comments about the farm show is the highlight.
