I know that every game counts but I'm curious how the next 4 games play out. USD plays the top 3 teams in the league and SDSU. They have 2 games both at home and on the road. There are 7 teams within 2 games of each other so if USD can go 3-1, they will be in great shape for the last 5 games. On the other hand, if they go 1-3, they might be fighting to be a 5 seed in the tournament. SDSU is in the same boat. Now that they lost 2 games at home, they need to win a few road games to get back up there. I don't think that they can win the conference after losing to NDSU at home but to be a top 3 team, they need to step up. This weekend, they play usd and @denver. Both of those teams are 3-2 while SDSU is 2-3. If they go 0-2, they could be a 6 or 7 seed in the tournament but if they go 2-0 they could still be a top 3 team. I think that NDSU is the cream of the crop in the Summit League this year but other than them and IUPUI being in the cellar, it's still open to every team. Of course what would you expect only 5 games into conference season.

Well, we've got two games at home and two on the road...so I'm predicting we go 2-2, at best. I think our season became a whole lot less interesting after this last road trip, it seems that we just can not win on the road. Clearly something is missing from this team. I wasn't appalled by our showing at UNO (WIU on the other hand...), especially since Trey Norris was out, but those two road games were the easiest ones we were going to get (besides IUPUI) and we couldn't win either one.
NDSU and IPFW will battle for 1st, it may very well be decided when they meet in Fargo. After that I think Denver is a pretty good pick for third, then, like you said, it's a free-for-all between USD, UNO, SDSU, and WIU for the 4-7 spots. SDSU dropping two at home is not going to do them any favors at all, you have to be able to take care of business at home to have any success, and UNO was a game they have to win. I'm not even going to try to fathom a guess as to where any of those 4 teams will finish, I just hope we aren't the ones who take 7th.

Im guessing we are bypassing the Peru State game in this next 4? which by all means I agree we do as it will be no more than a tuneup. But it makes more sense to go look at the next 5 conference games since that IPFW/ewweyypooey road trip is together. I think 3-2 is realistic and is doable if we can win just one close game away from the dome. Thinking we take SDSU, IUPUI, and then either denver or IPFW on the road. I actually like our odds against IPFW better than denver. Denver Made us look like a high school team with their press and traps in the 2nd half in the dome. To win ANY road games though we will need production from a 3rd and 4th player on offense. Gruis and Bos are our 2 most reliable players, and we will need the cast of Flack, Rowson, Kasperbauer, Norris to pick up some scoring if we want to win on the road.
