Wow, the men finish tied for 1st with 260 points!!! Great achievement in a great sport. Third place for the women might have been a little disappointing for those on the team but considering all the injuries I am proud of their accomplishment.
Congrats to all those who participated in the red and white.

@ gorabbits: I've patiently been waiting to reply to your botched smack above congratulating USD on their women's 3rd place finish (or as you typed 3dr place) at the Summit Championships behind the two XDSU's. Please allow me to return the favor: Congrats on your 3 qualifiers to the West Regionals. You will note that USD is sending 15 student athletes to the West Regionals this year (that's up from the 11 we sent last year), 9 of whom are women. That would be 3 times the number of females SDSU is sending. Because you clearly don't know much about track, pardon my assistance with the arithmetic. By extension I'm assuming your understanding of math is just as weak. I'm also guessing you're a kissing cousin of the Mitchell Daily Republic sportswriter who offered that making a deep run in the Women's NIT was a bigger deal than making the Big Dance. I took the liberty of including a few press releases for you if you care to indulge on the topic. In any event, enjoy that other second place trophy from the Summit League. It'll look great next to your 2014 women's basketball trophy. www.gojacks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15000&ATCLID=209505560 www.goyotes.com/sports/c-track/spec-rel/052214aab.html

Congratulations to Emily Grove for being named the 2014 South Dakota College Female Athlete of the Year by the South Dakota Sportswriters!
(Didn't see anyone mentioning the award on this board so I thought to give her some recognition)
Looking forward to a "threepeat" of this award in 2015. I know Emily will be in the running.
