You are right, a win is a win. However, when you are trying to determine whether to retain a coach that was forced on us or to open it up to a national search, then you have to have certain criteria. If we had a winning record and were safely in the top half of the conference, then I would agree that wins are the only necessary criteria. But, when we have a losing record, are in the bottom portion of the conference and have only won two games on the road, then you have to ask "what other criteria is out there to make me believe we have the right guy?"
In its simplest form, if you aren't winning then you better be doing everything else right off the court and you better show evidence that you are improving on the court.
At this point, I haven't seen a ton of Joey off the court, but I tend to believe that he is doing a fine job in this area. He carries a strong public persona, in my humble opinion. BUT, I cannot in good faith say that I believe this team is materially better than they were at the beginning of the season - that they have improved. I would genuinely like to have somebody convince me that I am wrong on this point. You may not believe it based on my comments, but I do want Joey to succeed.

I was there last night and was just as frustrated as everyone else at those passes that resulted in easy dunks/layups at the other end when they were in crunch time. However, we also have to remember that this is UNO's identity and they do it to everyone. I watched the UNO/NDSU men's game on Midco last weekend during dinner after our women's game. They did the same thing to the Bison. A review of the stats shows the Bison average 10.3 TO's/game and against UNO they had 15.
While I certainly don't like the TO's we witnessed, I have to remember that this sort of thing is going to happen, especially against an aggressive defensive team like UNO. What I do expect to see is that there were lessons learned and this and these mistakes are minimized on Saturday.
