Was that to draw attention to a bunch of Summit articles are one in particular Charlie? Sorry. I was trying to link to this article about the Summit tourney and how successful it has been in SF. usat.ly/1if5zSGI saw that article in USA Today, it really took me by surprise to see our tourney getting such a good write up in a national paper. Both the mens and womens Summit finals had the commentators showing that article to the camera and discussing how successful this tournament considering how small the programs are. Next year when they write the article again they'll get to point out the new champion on the womens side

Rumor on Bunny board is if you buy Summit baseball tourney tickets you can get access to buy up to 4 Summit basketball tickets BEFORE they go on sale to the public! Tourney is May 22-24 in SF I believe. If true SDSU fans will have huge advantage to buy tickets. Trying to find out if true and if requires single game ticket or tourney pass. Need some Yote fans to watch the baseball tourney even if we don't have a team.

Guess the SF Sports Authority was fearing some low attendance for the baseball tournament, trying to give people a reason to go to it.

You know who is high in the Sports Authority... The Chair is the Vice President of the USD School of Medicine Kevin Lampe but not sure what you're getting at.

I really wouldn't call this favoritism, they just want to get some people to attend the baseball tournament. Make it as big of a success as they possibly can, perhaps trying to make a run at holding the tournament every year.

Make it as big of a success as they possibly can, perhaps trying to make a run at holding the tournament every year. The Regular Season Champion from the previous season is the host of the SL Baseball Championship. Omaha was actually the 2013 Regular Season Champion, but they are ineligible for post-season play. SDSU got to host this year due to being 2013 SL Regular Season runner-up. I am not sure when Omaha becomes eligible for post-season baseball. Oral Roberts will be rejoining the SL in 2015 (next year). The bottom line is that it is pretty good baseball. If you are a baseball fan and the forecast is favoarable, USD fans would be able to have the same advantage by simply heading out to the Birdcage and have a hot dog and beer while watching some good baseball.

When the games were held in the arena, there was a much better chance that the place could have been sold out. SDSU fans might get a little better seat but I'm sure there will plenty of seat for other fans with the extra seating. As far as the tourney dates. Both SDSU and USD fans have it really good. If you come from Denver or other places that are far away, you have to take vacation to come to all the games. On top of that, you probably have to take an extra day just to get here. I know this doesn't quite address your point but it makes everybody take some time off.
