I remember hearing Geu was going to redshirt. Was surprised to see him have a couple minutes logged. How does the de minimis exception work? That isn't likely the proper term, just a phrase I used last night on my iPad. I am not sure in basketball, but in football a player can retain a redshirt if his minutes or number of plays were limited to a certain percentage of the total for the team. It is a "de minimis" amount.

Medical redshirts can be granted if they play less than 30% of the games in a season. If that has been exhausted, once a player plays in any capacity in a game, they can no longer redshirt. Not sure what you're talking about, Jackl. Mods, any interest in banning this dude?

It ends up being used as part of a medical hardship RS. I apologize for not making that clear. That was a fail on my part.

Sorry CE i was seriously asking because it does seem weird to play Geu in such a small capacity instead of redshirting him. Maybe the coaches do not want to redshirt him to avoid a 5th year on scholarship. Didn't mean to start anything.

Why would he deserve to be banned for adding a non-malicious comment about eligibility in a discussion about how eligibility gets counted, even if he misunderstood the initial comment he was responding to?

A ban or any punishment at all is not warranted. I'm sure most of us would like to see him disappear but no rules are being broken. There is some broken logic coming from the guy at times but he isn't attacking anyone. No different than that one NDSU poster that drops in from time to time to lay a turd.
