www.goyotes.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/sdak-m-baskbl-sched.htmlFinal schedule has been released for MBB's first year under Craig Smith. Not too many surprises, non-con home schedule is Wayne State, Youngstown State, Montana State, Milwaukee, and Avila (who?), plus the "neutral" game against UNLV. I love that we got the game against UNLV in Sioux Falls, but wish we could get a better home slate that that. It's pretty clear we aren't going to get very good home schedules until we start winning and have the ability to hose games in November.

Hose games in November? If we wanted more "hose games" we play State more often.

Typing on my phone is a crapshoot, just stabbing blindly and hoping I get it right! I can't wait until we can host some hose games in Novemer though!

Would love to see an Augie/USD game show up on these schedules someday. I know there's not much incentive for Craig Smith to put Augie on the schedule (all downside, no upside), but it would at least be fun to see again, even if it's just an exhibition game. Maybe they could do some sort of fundraiser the way Augie did with USF before USF made the jump to D2.
(Cue the "Augie is terrible/pathetic for being D2 instead of D1" posts.)

I'd really like it if we played local teams like augie if we're going to be playing lower division teams. There is nothing but negatives for the team if we played someone local, but it'd be more interesting for the fans.

Are you asking because of my follow-up comment or just because you think the suggestion itself is ridiculous?

Are you asking because of my follow-up comment or just because you think the suggestion itself is ridiculous? I know that USD would have everything to lose and Augie would have everything to gain from a game like this on the schedule, but I would much rather play Augie than some of the other games you see from time to time on the schedule. Wayne State comes to mind for the upcoming schedule this next year. For FB I would want only FCS or FBS competition, but if that can't be reasonably scheduled I think playing Augie or USF would be way better than William Penn.

Are you asking because of my follow-up comment or just because you think the suggestion itself is ridiculous? Your follow-up comment. Not a big fan of playing D-2 and/or NAIA. If we need it to fill the schedule, I prefer that it be a local team, like the game scheduled this coming season against NSIC member, Wayne State. Hopefully, once the new arena is complete, we can schedule more home and home games against D-1 teams

Hopefully, once the new arena is complete, we can schedule more home and home games against D-1 teams Sorry. Just seems to be a common response on the local D1 forums whenever I post anything about Augie playing anyone (SDSU, USD, NDSU, etc.). Just figured I'd pull an 8 Mile and call it out before someone else turned it into a bash the little guy session. I don't blame you for not wanting to play D2/NAIA games as regular season games. I mistakenly assumed the Wayne State game was an exhibition for you guys, but it doesn't appear to be. That's when I figured it'd make more sense to play Augie. Until we make the jump to D1 at least. On a side note, you know that Sioux Falls and Wayne are almost the exact same distance away, right? Time-wise, they're each 59 minutes apart. As far as "local teams," go, I would imagine an Augie/USD game would draw substantially more than Wayne/USD game, but maybe I'm underestimating the Wayne/USD rivalry.

Angie would draw a better crowd and be a better game compared to Wayne. I agree

I've always been a fan of Angie's artwork and found her drawing ability to be far superior to that dunce Wayne.

Solid schedule Yotes, love seeing the UNLV game and the Montana games. I do hate the WAC games, simply because they have the worst refs in college basketball. Especially Utah Valley.
