I believe it's October 3rd, or 42 days before first game. I think that's the rule but I stand corrected Yes I believe you are correct with that rule. The predictions on what type of season we could have will be fun to hear! Any early predictions?

I'm going to predict that we win 20 games on the dot during the regular season, finishing 10-6 in conference play for the third place spot, and a berth into one of those postseason tournaments that is below the NIT (but anything can happen in Sioux Falls!).
The Summit looks like it's going to be down this year, we should definitely be able to take advantage of that and put together a good record during Smith's first year.

I do think this years schedule is easier than last years and the summit league isn't as good as last season so that in itself should help out the overall record. Go yotes!

FYI, season ticket renewals were due this week. I think tickets are available in all sections either today or tomorrow.
Also there are plenty of tickets available for the USD/UNLV and SDSU/FGCU games in Sioux Falls. I realize these are a month out or more, but I hope people from the entire region don't miss a chance to see top level basketball teams when they are available. We only get these games to come back if people show up.

I would LOVE to see the USD/UNLV game sell out before the SDSU/FGCU game. There was so much talk about how the Pentagon couldn't host an SDSU game because it's too small for the fanbase from State College. USD ticket sales are only about 300 behind SDSU sales. One big push and USD could sell out before SDSU.

On Thursday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m. at Beef O'Brady's South off 69th & Western, the Sioux Falls Howling Pack chapter will be getting together to discuss the upcoming USD v. UNLV men's basketball game exactly one month from that day (Saturday, December 13th at 7:00 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon). We'll be talking about making this game a great experience for our fans and discussing what we have left to do in order to sell this event out. If you are in the neighborhood, stop on by for a beer as we'd love to have you. Additionally, if you have yet to purchase your tickets for this game, get going. As always, support the Coyotes by joining the Howling Pack and we look forward to seeing you on November 13th! Media day is set for tomorrow and the season opener is on Friday at reigning WAC champions Utah Valley. Time to get the Craig Smith era up and running!

Media day is set for tomorrow and the season opener is on Friday at reigning WAC champions Utah Valley. Time to get the Craig Smith era up and running! I believe we beat the defending WAC champs last year and this year should be the same! Utah Valley lost a couple of their best players so that should help! Looking at the schedule, this years team should win 18-20 games.

I'm really liking our chances against Creighton and UNLV in a few weeks. UNLV isn't looking good at all with 1 and 2 point victories over Morehead and Sam Houston AT HOME (and actually plays Stanford Friday), and Creighton just hasn't looked impressive in their 2 1/2 games (slapped around by Oklahoma in the first half at home). UNLV has to come to the great state of South Dakota, and Creighton faces us in between a huge opponent against Nebraska and a stiff test against Saint Mary's, might be overlooking USD there.
If we bring the same fight we have seen so far in the first two games I bet we can take one of these games. These are two big names, but these teams seem set for down years.

Man, talk about a tale of two halves for Creighton. After being down by 17 against Oklahoma, they're set for a narrow win. They hit a ton of 3s early in the second half, and had that deficit eliminated before the 10 minute mark.
I'm really interested to see how UNLV stacks up against Stanford. It's also quite the coincidence that we play Sam Houston State so soon after they took UNLV after the wire, might give us a good indication of what we can expect at the Pentagon on 12/13.
