Saw this on Twitter last night, and it should probably get more attention on this board. Amy Williams continues to roll on the recruiting trail. Someone correct me if Im wrong but I believe this is the 4th Verbal from the '15 class. www.yankton.net/sports/article_ad95991e-389b-11e4-b94b-001a4bcf887a.htmlWhich leaves the Yotes with Jaycee Bradley, 5'9 guard Norfolk, Nebraska Allison Arens, 5'9 guard Crofton, Nebraska Megan Bonar, 6'1 Forward DeSoto. Kansas Madeline Homoly, 6'2 F/C Parkville, Missouri Caitlin Duffy, 5-foot-11 guard (Transfer eligible in 2015-16) -Jr form CSU Quite the recruiting class and transfer to come in and help replace Seekamp, Loeffler, and Contreras.

Here is a video of Madeline Homoly playing AAU ball this summer. Much of the work shown here is post and inside play. AAU This lady has a lot of hustle. There is also a video from a couple games in her junior year. Here she shows a perimeter game as well. Junior Year

Madeline posted this today. Was really looking forward to seeing her play more next year. Had heard she was really playing well in practice and surely was going to get more playing time with the graduation of Margaret. Good Luck to Madeline! link

hmmm, wonder why she is leaving? Not sure about a reason but she also said on that post that she's transferring to Washington University in St. Louis (Division 3)

Washington is one of the top institutions in the country and I applaud her for making the move to such a challenging institution. Education should come first and a degree from Washington will open a ton of doors in her future.

It is also very close to her family in Kansas City which may have played a part in her decision.

It is also very close to her family in Kansas City which may have played a part in her decision. St Louis is actually only about an hour closer to KC than Vermillion is. My guess is she saw her prospects for playing time the next three seasons and decided that a top flight education is more valuable than potentially working into the starting lineup of a D1 basketball team her senior year. I don't blame her. USD has great academic programs but if professional basketball isn't in your future and you hold an acceptance letter from an Ivy League level university it's clear what the right choice is.

You are right, I guess I figured it was closer than that. Good luck to Madeline.

Education should come first and a degree from Washington will open a ton of doors in her future. Her major is Biology. I was a Biology major at USD too, and most of them are pre-med (I wasn't). Washington U has the #6 ranked medical school in the country, so that might be a reason. She would still have to be accepted into their med school if that was her goal, but I would think the undergrad degree would hold a lot of weight too.

The timing of this has to have something to do with the new coach. I doubt that Coach P "pushed her out", but maybe Madeline asked what her chances for playing time were in the new system? Who knows? This may have been in the works prior to the coaching change, too.
With all the graduating seniors, its not like we have a space issue. Maybe Coach is looking at a transfer or two in addition to the 5-freshman class.
