I don't know if anyone has posted this yet or not. I thought I had seen it on here once before. There is now a USD store open in the Empire Mall. Without getting into the supply/demand and chicken/egg argument about available Coyote apparel here in Sioux Falls, Scheel's, (NO) Target, etc..... This looks pretty sweet and will give me a reason to go to the mall besides the annual Christmas visit. www.argusleader.com/videos/sports/college/university-of-south-dakota/2014/11/11/18869507/Also, I've seen new billboards for the U on I-90 Westbound between Brandon and Sioux Falls and also on 10th/12th around East Side Walmart (I think). All of the above is the marketing I've been waiting for here in Sx Falls for the last several years. Good stuff! |

I think this is a great idea as well! I already happened through there over the weekend, but I will have to go back and load up before the store closes at the end of the year.
I also really like the new billboard campaign. There are some pretty good ads going up around SD

The store is great. It sounds like they will continue to get new/different items leading up to xmas so keep stopping back.
I actually sent an email to Scheels a couple times over the last year about their lack of gear and how SDSU has the end cap in the entire store. Thats fine if you want to say they sell more SDSU than USD stuff. but there is more SDSU stuff than USD, Iowa, Iowa State, NDSU and Nebraska combined. No way they sell more stuff than all of those schools together.
I GET IT EVERYONE WORKING AT SCHEELS/retail GRADUATED FROM SDSU.

Have you ever checked on how many NDSU grads are working at Scheels? Ever pay attention to some of the Scheels TV ads and recognize the former NDSU athletes in them? Scheels has been successful in business too long to do something stupid like featuring a particular school or schools -- unless there's demand for the schools' gear. Anyway, good day brightener. I like to check this message board for current info on the Coyotes. Now I can have a laugh, too. I think the USD store in the mall in Sioux Falls is a good idea. |

Good point JackJD about everyone working at Scheels not being SDSU grads. We all know most SDSU grads are working at McDonalds or delivering pizza. I kid.
Seriously if you want to see a shrine to the Bison, visit the Scheel's store in Fargo. Little to no Gopher, Viking etc apparel. Wall to wall green and yellow.

Shrine is the right word -- unfortunately, they have the trophies to make it a shrine. Personally, when I walk in the Fargo Scheels, I think the shrine part is a little over the top but perhaps that just a little jealousy showing through. While the Fargo Scheels is loaded with NDSU stuff, there's also a large amount of UND gear in the store. |

I stopped in the USD Store today. We have had ornaments on our Christmas tree from the universities of our family members for years. When we added a Jayhawk in honor of my daughter's fiancee last year (now her husband) I decided it was finally time to add USD to the tree. My daughter graduated from there in 2008.

I have no idea if the variety of items and sizes was anything like it would have been weeks ago. The lady working there had plenty of time to visit. She said my Jackrabbit hoodie frightened her. That seemed an appropriate response. She told me how they had reached an agreement with Warner Brothers so they could resurrect the old style Charlie Coyote. It made me wonder if SDSU could do that with our old Bugs Bunny style of mascot, but our current Jackrabbit logo is so popular among our fans that I would be surprised if such an attempt was made. |

I am not saying this because I am an USD fan, but that new Jackrabbit logo is hideous. State should consider bringing back Bugs.
