That's very cool. Is the turf a field-turf or similar product (with the ground up bits of rubber) or is it more like carpet like years ago (I have not been on the turf in the DakotaDome for many years. Nice time-lapse video!

My question is why do so few basketball bleachers get put up on the west side. If anything they need more than they had before but instead we have less. I would rather have wooden bleachers and have more of them rather than what they have now.

There does appear to be fewer seats. Guessing that will not be the case for SDSU game

I do believe the old wooden bleachers were the football student section seating, which were replaced with the new red bleachers. If we weren't building a basketball arena right now I bet we would have done things a little differently, but opted to get the best bleachers for the football setup instead of bleachers that would suit both sports.
Don't worry, there's plenty more seating on the east side.

It is a real good video that shows the value of the Dakota Dome. For all the complaints, some valid, the Dome has served the university and South Dakota very well. Looking forward to the new arena and how it will allow the Dome to be used for fewer activities, and hopefully improve those experiences also.
