A 3-6 Montana State team comes in to the Dome tomorrow having lost 113-78 at UCLA and 86-28 to Kentucky. The Bobcats also have a 51-72 loss at home to NDSU and have one common opponent with USD having played Utah Valley in a 68-60 win recently. This is one the Yotes need to win.

Should be a fun game to watch. I know nothing about their personnel, but this seems like a team we should compete well with.

The game will be broadcast on Midco 622 at 7:30. Despite their relatively small line-ups lately, the Coyotes are leading the Summit in offensive rebounding and rank 64th in the country in that category. Tyler Larson is the leading rebounder in the Summit and his four double doubles rank 23rd nationally.
(For those who think those stats are meaningless, you'll have to excuse me. Several of us got a good chuckle after all the crap I took from some of the newbies on that Oregon post, especially after Mick Garry's Argus article on Saturday compared the common opponents that USD and UNLV have had thus far in Sam Houston State and UVU. =) Mick, like me wasn't trying to read the tea leaves, just looking at the numbers and generating interest.)
Anyway, somehow USD has a very limited history with Montana State with the series tied at just 1-1, the Yotes having last beat them on 2-24-2013 by 85-74 in Bozeman as part of the ESPN bracket-busters. This will be the Bobcats' first trip to the Dome and only their second trip to Vermillion. Their last trip....during the 1946-47 season and they won 63-59. The Bobcats have won 2 of their last 3. Should be a good one.

Very interesting game, one I will be disappointed if we lose. We have a regional peer coming to town and I feel we have to win this game if we are to show that the team is progressing.

Honestly I wish the Yotes had the atmosphere they had at the Pentagon as a regular occurance. If the team plays as well as they did against Creighton and/or just matches the effort they gave against UNLV it should definately be a win. If the Yotes can't duplicate the energy anything can happen. It would be great if they came out strong and blew the Bobcats out of the dome and won by 20.
I will predict 84-68 Yotes. If the Yotes are in another close game we may be looking at a team that simply plays to the level of their opponent more often than not. That could lead to alot of near heart attacks for Yote fans.

I can't wait until we have an arena so that the energy will be more like what we saw at the Pentagon, the Dome just doesn't condone that kind of atmosphere for basketball.
I think it's funny that we share a border with Montana, but Bozeman is farther away than Amarillo, Texas. Border war!!!

I can tell you about one player Terrell Brown, a Yote at one time. Left handed athlete with a good pull up game. Will work extremely hard. Left the Yotes for Ortero Juco before being recruited by Coach Sean Dirden at MSU. Will be interesting to see if he comes in with a chip on his shoulder.

22 for the Bobcats is going to cause us fits if we leave him open.
