www.thesummitleague.org/sports/wbkb/2014-15/releases/20150331bmrgejThe attendance at the quarter final round session in which SDSU and USD played on Saturday was the highest attended of any single session of any of the conference tournaments for women this year. Great job Jackrabbit and Coyote fans. Only one conference had a higher average attendance for all session than the Summit League. As fans and a community we deserve a pat on the back for as we all know probably 90% of those were either Coyote fans or Jackrabbit fans or fans or both. Three of the sessions were among the top 10 attended sessions nationally.

It is unbelievable how much women's athletics are supported around here. At the Summit tourney there was not a big difference in attendance between the men's games and the women's games. That is not necessarily the trend around the country. When looking at those numbers it is even more impressive considering that the women always get the day session and the men the night session, especially during the Monday and Tuesday games. People are taking off work to watch the women play. SDSU fans and USD fans probably have about the same ratio in the percentages of fans that attend women's games vs men's games and that includes the regular season and the tourney. I personally get just as excited for each team when it comes to watching the games. So I guess when it comes to Aaron Johnston and Amy Williams the grass isn't much greener than it is around here. If a job isn't seriously a major job and that includes the major conferences only why would either want to leave the Summit right now.
Major props to Summit League fans.
