Home opener for the men tonight against the SD School of Mines and Technology. I've been saying for a while if we have to play games against the lower division that I would like them to be against regional schools (that I have actually heard of). Nice to see a game against one of our fellow BOR schools. Now let's go beat them by about 50 points!

We need to be careful not to take anyone for granted. I remember years ago here in Rapid City our guys played Tech. At half Tech was ahead by about 20 but fortunately the Yotes came back to win by a few but it was way to close. I'm sure Coach Smith is already preaching that sermon!

Kind of a mediocre half for USD. Up 40-25 at halftime.

That was a tough half of basketball to watch.

...still brutally bad. Hoping classic example of playing down to your opponent.

Play like that against anyone else on the schedule (minus whatever other lower division school we play) and we lose. This team is likely still finding their identity, let's hope they do so by the time we hit Summit play.

I wouldn't take anything out of this game either good or bad. The Coyotes were probably luke warm with their motivation playing SD Tech. I am sure they played down to the competition. They were not seriously tested and ended up cruising in the end. The Coyotes play Sacramento State and Eastern Washington this weekend so hopefully they will have a good weekend. Sac State is the host of that invitational.
