Minnesota won't want to schedule South Dakota anymore. The Coyotes are 2-0 against Minnesota teams in the big 2 sports since the Coyotes turned D1. Imagine if the Gophers actually had to come to play in the Coyotes new arena. They might actually be under dogs. I bet the Gophers would not win the Summit if they were in it because they would actually have to play half those games on the road.

If it wasn't for all the fouls called against USD the Yotes may have won by double digits but I think we will take it.

If Minnesota decides to never schedule us in anything ever again I will completely understand. Easily our biggest win in the D1 era. Impossible not to love what Craig Smith is doing with this program so far.

I am so happy about this win. I remember so many close "signature wins" that slipped through the fingers of a lot of these guys on this team. Two close games for a few of our current guys with K-State before Coach Smith's arrival, the Creighton game last year, playing UNLV tight and fading down the stretch, fading on K-State again a few weeks ago after leading the first half and to start the second half. It doesn't happen often, but I agree with coyotefan, I think this team learned from that tough second half at K-State and they have responded ever since. Listening to Coach Smith on the post-game radio interview just makes me like him and this squad even more. He's really got a handle on things and he's got a great perspective. This coach, his staff and this team are fantastic ambassadors for USD and I couldn't be happier for them. A 47 game winning streak against non-conference opponents and we broke it. Are you kidding me?! Man it feels good to finally get the big win.

Impossible not to love what Craig Smith is doing with this program so far. Get this guy a raise quickly. This was kind of supposed to be a down year but it sure isn't looking that way right now despite there being plenty of season to play out. The Coyotes are so good on the road but need to improve their home play now. Guys like D.J. Davis and Duol Mayot are perfect examples of players that Smith is developing along nicely. I do have to add that Minnesota is not a very good big 10 team and I don't expect them to be very competitive in their conference this year but that doesn't take much away from the Coyotes win today. It will be interesting to see how the Jacks do against them in a few days. I think their is a good chance they knock them off as well (eventhough I hope they don't). Omaha almost pulled the same upset last weekend. The Gophers have traditionally been my favorite D1 team so I certainly don't have anything against them and I hope they go on to do very well in the Big 10. That would make this win look even better.

To respond to coyotefan's post above about Minnesota's talent, on the pre-game radio show it was noted they were sitting at 81 (oddly enough their score today) on the rpi ranking and I think USD was at 110.

What a fantastic win for the program. We were in this game from the tipoff and even though Minnesota had runs that could have taken us out of the game, we kept fighting back and were victorious in the end. Nice job to all of the coaches and players! Go YOTES!

Down 6 with a minute and a half left in the first OT, on the road. Clutch.
Didn't see the game but the foul disparity in the second half was nuts.
Nice 4 game win streak Yotes! Keep rolling!

Watched online...the officiating was not great. Thought for sure we were done down 6 in the first OT. Kept fighting and found a way. Heck of a win. Heck of a day.
