I can't get the others to post, but this is what they read:
"The matters off the court is not as serious as they are being taken. After talking to my mother we determined this was the best decision"
"For me and my family"
I have no clue what is going on, but it is never a good feeling to see a player leave the program. I wish the best for Shy, hopefully this is an over reaction and rethinks this decision.

Anyone have some insight on any of this?

I don't like losing anyone, cause it may disrupt the team going forward, but the writing was on the wall for Shy. Not a good shooter from the field and even worse at the line. Kind of a liability of sorts I guess. Plus Norris has been doing a solid job lately.

Norris has definitely stepped up his game though

I guess whatever the issue it was serious enough for him to leave the program. I wonder if this was something that had been brewing for awhile or if this was just something that boiled over in the last couple of weeks. I can't speak for his character but he was good at getting to the rim and was explosive. If there was friction between the coach or team mates that is not good either. There just isn't enough info out there to make any real conclusions about this but it's too bad that things didn't work out for everyone involved.

And Dickerson? I can't find anything anywhere on him leaving.

The staff won't be giving their side of the story and most of us likely will never know the full details on this one.
Does this mean the team picture can be updated to pull the badly photoshopped McClelland? goyotes.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

The feet/non-shadow are pretty funny...

Wow those are some very strong comments from Shy. That was a very difficult article to read.

I can't imagine Coach Smith doesn't elaborate on this....you can't leave it at this can you?

I can't imagine Coach Smith doesn't elaborate on this....you can't leave it at this can you? There are always two sides to every story. I certainly hope we hear Coach Smith's side of this. Certainly with two players quitting the team leaves an open window for anxious thoughts. This might be the beginning to telling the story of why the team has struggled as of late. With all speculation aside there appears to have been tension from at least one player on the team now a former player. Is this a one case exception or is there more to it than that.

Having no other info, that is my take as well - sounds like there was some tension/dissension, which eats at team chemistry, of course. Smith's comments in Mick's article certainly hint towards some attitudes that were affecting the team as a whole. The curious fan side of me hopes we hear the other side of the story, but the adult side of me hopes the high road is taken and McClelland can move on without the story following him around.
