The Coyotes win 74-63 and end up finishing the league at 15-1. That is a tremendous accomplishment to be able to put up that kind of a record. This is a special team this year and will be steamrolling into the Summit Tourney will all kinds of momentum. What a season so far.

I went to the game in Vermillion on Saturday, and the Yotes were clearly the better team, even though the score ended up being close at the end. I would consider it an upset if the Jacks beat them in Sioux Falls. The Saturday games should be a bore, but the Jacks will likely have to battle against IUPUI on Monday. I think they will win over the Jags, but it will wear them down. USD should have an easy road to the championship game. I will be pleasantly surprised if the Jacks win the tournament, as in my mind USD is the clear favorite.

While I hope Tuesday afternoons matchup is USD v. SDSU, it also scares the heck out of me. You know the old saying about beating a good team three times in a season.... Should be a fantastic tournament and of all of the events that I've attended at The Denny, the place is best suited for basketball in my opinion.
Go Yotes!

I think it is worth noting that Seekamp & Hemiller combined to go 4-20 from the field, but the Yotes beat the 3rd (maybe 2nd?) best team in the conference by 11 on the road Saturday, after being up close to 20 in the 2nd half. There is no doubt that anything can happen in a single elimination tourney situation, but right now they are on a roll with a bunch of players playing well.

Just another point that shows how good this team will still be next year with the players who are returning. There is no replacing Seekamp and this senior class is very good. But anyone who thinks next year the players returning do not have just as good of a shot at the regular season title are out of their mind. The bunny board has crowned their women the champs for the next 2 years already.

I guess I am out of my mind because I personally don't think next years team will have just as good of a chance as this year. They may be better than originally expected but this years team just went 15-1 in the league which is the third best winning percentage in league history and they will be losing a clutch player that some think may be in the WNBA. Without Seekamp the Coyotes probably lose in Fargo and in Brookings. Next year the Coyotes will likely miss the leadership and talent that is on this years team. I don't see next years team being able to pull out a win at Frost or at IUPUI. If they do than Amy Williams deserves the national coach of the year. Realistically I hope the Coyotes can hold off IUPUI for the 2nd spot in the standings. Next year what I think the Coyotes can maintain is their intensity and their defense which picked up at mid season this year. That is a mindset as much as it is an experience factor. The Coyotes scoring will almost certainly take a hit next season. This year is not only for now but also for the future. Things definitely look bright for next year and in future years but let's not go as far as to say that next year's team will be as good or better than this year because I don't see that happening. If they can be close to this years team that will be a big win.
