Lots of inbreeding up north tonight. Just hope they don't count on the refs to be their protection like this afternoon.

Can't make a free throw. At the end we got gifted plenty of calls as well.

Officiating was questionable many times. A Lady Yote would be hammered and no call or in position to make a rebound and state goes over the back no call again. Hopefully the Yotes get a WNIT bid. GREAT season Lady Yotes!! Keep it going in the post season!!! Not gonna blame the refs like state always seems to. Best case scenario, they get pounded in the first round and we make a deep WNIT run at home. Worst part about it is USD is the better team and stands a better chance in the tourney.

Well, thats it. Terrible game. I hope they lose by 50 in the first round. I hope they get just embarrassed. We've played the best and rarely do we get embarrassed. Upgrade your schedule and games like this will go your way. Oh, free throws were dead even. Whining about the refs? Come on... Good luck in the NIT, I doubt any SDSU fan will miss Seekamp. She may be the best we have seen in the Summit since Jaci Bingham from ORU.

There two teams are very even, it's a shame both can't make it to the tourney.

Take either the KSU or Washington game and we would probably be in. This is an at-large worthy team that will fall just short. Such a shame.

Just got back to the office from the game. Sat with a mixed bag of State and U fans. Level headed folks all around me, which was nice. State fans were complimentary of the Yotes and noted they expect the same match-up again next year as we were walking out. I don't see any reason to see it any differently as the Yotes have a lot of talent remaining after graduation and coming in. Thought the Jacks did a nice job of taking away the lane. Multiple Yotes were shut down driving and shots blocked or taken away. Made us one dimensional and forced us to shoot from deep, many times with a hand in our face. Good game plan by State. Coyotes didn't let anyone get going offensively, just didn't get the shots we needed on our end. I have never been to a game with more jump balls called. Really seemed to hurt the flow of the game, which I felt kept us from getting in to our style of play up and down the court. Will be interesting to see what seed the Jacks end up with. Anyone think we have a realistic shot at an at-large bid? I don't think so as we don't have a huge quality win to hang our hat on, but one never knows.

Totally agree with your assessment on Seekamp. Miller played well, but she was not the best player in the tournament. Nicole was the MVP, whether she got the award again or not. You are spot on with the schedule comment as well. I think the Summit as a whole will be stepping up out of conference scheduling to improve its chances at an at large bid in the future. However, to say we haven't upgraded the schedule already is a bit misguided. Someone on here did a breakdown of RPI and quality wins between USD and SDSU and I think USD came out ahead on that count, but I could be wrong. One of you whiz kids help me out here. =)

As it turns out I may very well be right about the Utah and Kansas State games being much more important than anyone had realized at the time. The Coyotes weren't quite ready to start the season (regardless of whether Seekamp was there or not) and it may be the difference between the NCAA tourney and the WNIT.
What a heart wrenching game. I wonder how many 1 loss conference champs have such a crowd disadvantage to overcome in their conference title game. Life is simply not fair and that is just the way it goes. I feel the same way about the IPFW men. There is no way they should have to play the #8 seed in basically a road game. Against life is not fair.
I am proud of this Coyote Women's team. Things just didn't go their way today. I have no problem with the officiating whatsoever. They really allowed the teams to play and that is kind of the mantra of the league being physical. They called about 10 jump balls in the game where there could have probably been fouls but it went both ways evenly.
The Coyotes had many on court advantages with their depth and senior leadership but unfortunately that didn't pan out. The Jacks are the kind of team that loves this physical defensive type battle. That gives them the best chance to win against the Coyotes. If it becomes a shootout the Yotes likely would succeed in that type of game.
With the experience this year players like Duffy, Trimboli, Arens and Fogg can now take leadership rolls and they learned from such great seniors in Seekamp, McCloud, Hemiller and Stewart. That group raised the bar for Coyote Women's basketball for the next generation to take over and carry on the tradition.
It's difficult to ask much more than what we got out of this team this year.

Mixed bag of state fans around me. 2 incredibly obnoxious gentlemen that better take a nap if they want to make the men's game tonight. At least most of the state fans around us were equally annoyed by them. Too many turnovers and just inefficient on offense.

"upgrade your schedule games like this will go your way". I don't agree with that quote. The way this game turned out had nothing to do with the strength of schedule. The Coyotes have been the better team since they won in Frost so it's fair to say that the better team did not win today. Did your schedule help you in winning the two regular season games against the Coyotes and the game against IUPUI. Where was that quote after those games. The strength of schedule argument does not hold up for the last two seasons. For two straight years the Coyotes were the better team in the best way to decide the true champ and that is a home and home 16 game true round robin. The Jacks won the tourney games and congrats on that but they have a very big advantage playing the tourney in Sioux Falls. I am fairly certain without that home cooking that you could take away at least one of the Men's tourney appearances and probably 2 or 3 of the Women's tourney titles.

I was at the champ game for the girls both last year and today. Slightly better turnout for the Coyote fans, and WAY better turnout for the students! We had twice the student section they did! Nice job, Crazies! about a 80/20 split of Blue/Red in the lower concourse, and a 60/40 split in the upper concourse (which is less impactful from the courtside view.) baby steps, I guess. I hope the new arena helps with the momentum Amy Williams and the girls have built in the program.
I was surprised at the small number of Jacks students at the game, but maybe they were saving up for the men's game? I was NOT surprised by the Jacks students taunting Seekamp with the "U-S-A" chant during her free-throws. I guess xenophobia is alive and well at State College.
I wonder what Ena Viso, SDSU's Danish player, thought about that chant? Stay classy, Bunnies.

The chant didn't really bother me. Nicole gave a smirk when they said it during her FT attempts and knocked them both down.
