Good trend for the Yotes! Keep in mind that the "Home Attendance" Stat also includes WNIT home games, which gave us a boost this year. Without those games we were 1,844 (still a huge improvement). Those WNIT games in Brookings in 2014 probably kept the jacks' average numbers from dipping below 2k that year. We are narrowing the gap. Just need to get our fans to commit to buying those all-tournament tickets at the SLT next year. Having the Men's team do well would make a huge difference there, I think. As will the new arena. The Sioux Falls alumni may be a more common sight in Vermillion next year at the BB games. I know I am planning on making the trip a few times.

Thanks for doing the work and sharing this graphic with us. The arena and heightened interest from the WNIT will hopefully keep our upward trend going.

Looks like SDSU,USD,NDSU (if they ever get anything to cheer about),and W.Ill are leading the way.UNO strong trend upward in a short time period, plus a brand new facility like the Yotes. The rest aren't too interested I guess. IPFW slow progress, trending upward, at least they are showing positive interest.I should have mentioned ORU as doing ok also. A winning tradition really works wonders for attendance.

Yeah, I think in WBB especially you see the fan support being fickle. Ndsu was pretty dominant for awhile, but you see the aftermath as a slow decline. Same with ORU. Iupui was good this year, but the fans are a little slow to respond. In WBB I think only sustained success builds a fan base. Right now we are seeing the "breakthrough " moment, and in order to sustain momentum, we gotta keep coming, and keep our coach. IMHO. Herbster has been awesome for us so far, supporting Williams with WNIT bids that have kept the games here. Now we will see how he does fending off suitors from major conferences.

That is probably right. I got that number from an article I quoted in another thread. It was an Oregon writer writing right before the semifinal game.. He probably mistakenly used the running average at that point, which would have included the creighton and uni games.
It doesn't matter much anyway. The standard statistic that the NCAA uses includes WNIT home games. All the other teams shown include those games, including sdsu in 2014.

Just for the record, SDSU had 3900 for their game against Indiana in round 4. We had far more. They had 3250 in round 3. We had far more.
They never played at home in round 5 but they lost on the road. Having 7000-7500 at our game obliterated anything they've done. It goes to show it can be done.

Please update the Final 4 and Championship rounds...
