Not sure where to post this, but since the gals are still on their trip I will post it in the women's section.
If you go to the official Coyote website, there have been numerous stories about their respective trips, mostly written by the student athletes themselves. It doesn't take long for you to discover just how much fun they are having, and how the trip is creating a huge bond. Athletes of all sports work extremely hard, and for them to have an opportunity like this once every four years is awesome. The kids are so appreciative.
Then when you add in commentary from people on the trips as well, such as Coach Glenn being in Australia with the ladies, and he makes the claim that he and Michelle have never been around a group of young ladies as nice as our team, it makes you proud as hell to be a Coyote booster. The same was said about the men in Spain. And I've had reports back from both trips that everything was first class and just a heckuva lot of fun.
I want to thank President Abbott for having the vision to put USD on a path for success at the level we compete in. It's trips like this, along with new arena, new track, new soccer complex, and soon to be Dome rennovation that will make us relevant in sports. And when you do it with classy young men and women, it's all the better. We are on the verge of climbing to new heights and trips like this play a vital role in making that happen.
I'm so impressed right now....President Abbott gets it. And he's making it happen along with so many people that have generously stepped to the plate to fund it. It's a great time to be a Coyote. Have fun ladies, good lord knows you deserve it with how you lit a fire last spring among the alumni. Now build on it.
