Yeah and the SDSU men have been playing like crap. That was expected when you lose 3 of the best guards in the summit, 1 one of the best bench players (nation's best walk-on as well), and bring in a new head coach. They'll be there when conference play starts up. Back to WBB, since that is what the thread is about. SDSU beat Arkansas the past 2 years and are 8-2 against the SEC since going D1. I was just correcting CF when he said Arkansas was really good. So did the Jacks lose all 5 of their starters plus 2 very significant bench contributors. I admit your men have lost a lot as well but the SDSU biased media didn't really think they would skip much of a beat and most Jacks fans thought just simply having Daum back would more then enough to make up for the heavy losses they took. They were picked 2nd in the Summit whereas a more dominant Coyote Women's team were picked third. Just look at the difference. The Jacks men barely beat Wayne State at home. The Coyote Women only lost to Arkansas by 3 on the road. It was a nice performance tonight by the Coyotes regardless of your anti Coyote sentiment. The bottom line is that it appears that the Coyote women for the millionth year in a row appear to be under rated again. Can't say the same about the Jacks men being picked second. Of course it is early but considering the circumstances this has been a great start for the USD Women. Looks like the loss of Seekamp which the Jacks fans have been obsessed about for at least a couple of years isn't going to be the death blow to this team that SDSU people thought it would be. His post is about the quality of Arkansas. Original post didn't seem that way, but that's what we're going with. I do not like the poster but let's not just make this about everything except what he's disputing you on. I don't know where Arkansas's season is going. Last year they finished 10th in the SEC with an RPI of 141 (one spot ahead of Oral Roberts). I believe we beat them easily last year but it is promising for the current team to compete with all things considered this year.

I really like Jimmy Dykes, not afraid to give praise when praise is due. Here's a couple quotes from him...
Quotable I – From Coach Jimmy Dykes “This is going to be our first true tough test. South Dakota is probably looking at it the same way. They lost some starters from last year, but those kids know how to win. You watch them on film, and within the first 10 minutes, you realize it’s another level that we’re going to now.” Quotable II – From Coach Jimmy Dykes “Every area of our team will be tested, from our conditioning, to our toughness, to our half-court defense, to our pressing defense, to how good are we really offensively? That’s where you should be right now. It’s time to get knocked down a little bit. I anticipate that we’ll get knocked around some Thursday night. I’m not going to say if we’re going to lose the game or win the game, but we’re going to get knocked around, but hopefully we’ll knock some around too.”

Coach Jimmy is very sharp, because that's about exactly how it went down!

Great effort Lady Yotes!! Arkansas won their previous two non-exhibition games by 32 and 46 and sandstate bunny how would of the bunnies done without their top two players? Coyotes were without two of their seniors Caitlyn and Jasmine out with injuries. GO YOTES!!!

FWIW, after 3 games (1 neutral site, 1 home, 1 road vs. P5), here is what has transpired. Class | Mins/Gm | Pts/Gm | Sr | 49 | 13 | Jr | 8 | 4 | So | 81 | 36 | Fr | 62 | 21 |
I think a more interesting stat would be % of time the ball is controlled by class, as it appears 2 Fr and 1 So handle the ball a ton. Of course, these stats don't reflect two seniors who were largely expected to be the leading scorers, and we really don't know if they are coming back at all yet. (Announcer last night said Trimboli is out for the season with a knee injury, but they weren't very knowledgeable about the Summit League - which is expected)

Obviously an underclassmen dominated team. The Yotes do not have a star like a Seekamp or a Macy Miller but they use success in numbers which I never mind that type of tactic. They have plenty of energy to burn if they continue to play 10 players. It seems like the long range shooting is starting to heat up as well.
